Good luck to you when you bring your car in for service!!
Been there done that!
They don't know nothing about performance! They ain't mod. friendly. If you wanna complain their parts and service, unless you complain to SOC and media, then there is no use to complain to their GM.
They denied my warranty claim on clutch at 3000km, just because I have a autox club sticker on my car. Stole someone's stock bumper because he bought the US-Spec bumper, and the bumper that they sell to you, actually it's not the US one, it's only the bumper from HK that sell about the same price, but in HK$. A sales there talked me into that!
If I'm ok (just ok, can't even say happy) with them, why I have to go all the way from Coquitlam to Specialty to get my trade from RS to new style TS wagon?

And what do you mean about Specialty don't have enough amount of Subaru enthuists? One of their guy just recently finished rebuilding his impreza into a real RALLY car. And couple more of their staffs own different kind of Suby. Also they are the very first dealer that really pushing SOC to have STi parts import, and before it's happened, they contact STi directly.

Keiho, did I act like a troll? I've got my flame suit on, but I think more and more people will have the flame suits on and back me up!!

Fred

I think we have a spy in our midst....perhaps a Richmond Sube employee....or...
Whatever, it will be extremely difficult to change our opinions of R.S.
They did themselves in and it will be difficult to repair the damage. You know what they say...give good service and a client will tell 1 or 2 people, give bad service and they will tell 10.

You can't get a test drive at the Audi dealership? I just did mine a few weeks back and I am not buying... at this stage.

I have no probably getting a WRX and BMW 325Ci test drive, either.

I guess my final decision will probably have "W" "R" and "X" in the sentence

I went in to R.S. with cash in my pocket ready to buy a brand new 2000RS. They wouldnt sell me one. I kept asking the guy, "Ok, give me a price to chew on". He said, it's on the window sticker. I said "I mean, I need some hard and real numbers to look at". He said, "It's on the Window sticker". So I left there, went to Don Docksteader, asked the sales dude there the same questions and he said, "Ok, here, lets write some numbers down, and start with that." Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Needless to say, I bought the car that day.

I went to Audi a couple of months ago and test drove that A4!
Talked to the sales man and appearently became very close! he said drive that car and floor it on the corners so that we can feel the AWD. Richmond Audi is the most friendliest place ive ever been.... also Richmond Ford... they let me test drive the GT mustang.. and they said they would like me to test drive the Cobra as well... butdidnt feel like... too much for 1 day...

Let's be reasonable guys, as bad as some of our experiences with Richmond Subaru/Suzuki may be... I'm sure they can't possibly send every customer away unhappy. Just like it's impossible for other dealerships to make everyone happy.

I had a friend that said he got "pampered" over at Richmond Subaru when he was recently shopping for his Legacy. (But he later bought from Don Docksteader when my advice steered him away from Richmond Subaru.)

If someone likes going to Richmond Subaru, more power to them.

when i was shopping for my MY00RS...first i went to richmond subaru, the sales rep. was a filipino...anyway..he's friendly...BUT he wants me to pay $1500 for that NON-GENUINE US-bumper swap....i guess Richmond Subaru must be insane or something.

Then I went to DonDock...and I brought my USBumper part nubmers with me to DonDock(cause they don't have that kind of package in DonDock)...sales rep(BoB Townson) only charge me $1050 for the Genuine one..(without fog light).......

Angry

three weeks ago, i went to Richmond Subaru, and asked for a test drive of WRX, because my RS had shudder clutch problem, and if SOC can't think of way fixing it, i might consider getting a WRX(this is what i explained to the sales rep in Richmond Subaru, but at that time, I was driving a Don Dock courtesy car).

anyway, the sales rep. said he will let me test drive it when the demo WRX arrived,
first...another customer walked in Rich.Sub and talked to that sales rep, then this sales rep asked me to wait(cause he's letting this customer test drive it first)..alright...it's only 1 person..i'll wait..

second...some dude drives a S2000 and talked to that sales rep...and this time sales rep didn't asked me or anything...and let this dude test drive the WRX....

gee,... ***$ is wrong with me? I can't afford gettin a wrx???this sales rep. really pissed me off....

btw, my clutch got fixed ..no more shudder...so no excuse for me to get a WRX.

Eric Li?? I am saying it again, HE stole my cruse control which he said was worth $600! HE did not give me any call to tell my vechicle was arrived for a week! HE did not give me the CARE card. HE lied to me there are tweeters in the subies, in fact he really thought there were until I opened that "tweeter cover" to show him! Also when I went to "look" at the Susuki side kick couple years ago, HE kept my mom's credit card and said "YOU HAVE TO BUY IT, SO I WILL RETURN YOU THE CARD". I really had enough bad expersiences JUST from him, Also it's not just me! Like, Kevin paid the extra $1000 to get a new OEW US version bumper w/ US version re-bar, and it turned out to be a CUT re-bar.... I mean... that cut rebar cost only $30!!! It means just the bumper + painted itself cost $970?????? ... come on!! Wake up people!! .

Besides the sales department, the parts department sucks too. I remeber, when my sterio got stolen a year ago, A&B sound in Abbotsford (where I got everything replaced) phoned Richmond Subaru and asked if they can give a price on the braket. Guess what the guy told him, the parts department guy said they don't know which part it is even we gave him the parts # and told me to go down there to show him which part I needed!!! And don't forget, I LIVED in ABBOTSFORD!!!! Well, anyway, I needed the part, so I drove down there and showed them. And after a couple days, the A&B guy got a phone call from them and told ME to go pick up the parts!! They said they won't send the parts to me! So, I drove down there again.... and guess what, they brough me a WRONG one!!! I couldn't belive how bad their service is, i had to drive back a forth from Abbotsford to Richmond 3 times to get just that braket thing?!??!?!

I finally figured out that I had enough and went to find a better dealership, So I found DD, and..... I was really suprised how well a SUBARU dealership can actually treat their customers. I got a call from them telling I could pick up the car at 5:00 from service. But I was having dinner w/ some friends and they would not drive me back. So we start going to DD around 5:30 and was stuck in the busy traffic until like 6:00-6:30... and they actually waited for me!!! and wasn't mad or anything, they even said "thank you" to me.

But that was it, why? Cuz I found iclub and was told that Speciality is the BEST dealership. So I decided that I would give myself and try to see how best they really are. No regert. They really ARE!!! I went there to fixed my right side window, they had no question for me and fixed it! and NO CHARGE!! Also Stephen from Speciality helped me to get back the CARE card that which was supposed to be ERIC LI's job. He also helped me to find all the missing clips on my car, fixed the upper tower bar mount even it's an aftermarket thing, helped me to get all the water out off my trunk, washed my car even I just went there for visit, and gives me all these little gifts like posters, stickers, keychains etc. everytime I go there. Also I was actually shock how "subaru known" they are. They don't just know everything on the stock Subies, they even know everything about STi, Prodrive stuff. He even showed me the pic he took w/ the STi president and the president's business card! And this is called "doesn't have the amount of Subaru enthusist in thier demographics and haven't experienced these incidents..... "???? I don't get this at all!

Yeah I would agree that Richmond Subaru do not treat EVERYONE as bad as they did to me. But I believe he did to MOST people and MOST iclubbers.

eric wasn't my salesman, but he was the guy that was there to introduce me to my car when I picked it up (my salesmans started his holidays). he seems like a nice enought guy, and answered all my questions. the only problem he had was when he show my under the hood of my car and realize the changed it from a 99 to my 00 and couldn't be sure where the air filter was( it was sept99 when I got my car)

their parts department sucks. I phone then up and asked them about STi parts and if they can get them. the guy said no because it would void the warrenty. haven't phone them up since.

I'm having have ABS problems right now,
took it down to Richmond Subaru, the Parts Service was not very good, but my salesman just said "leave it to me...." part's coming in by Monday...

PS. I checked out that WRX sticker with Bubbles.... it wasn't really a sticker, its one of those easy peels, type of things..
reusable. The sales man also asked me if I wanted to buy a STi Short Shift.... expensive... 400 bux

I really don't understand why some people are really having a problem there, maybe the owner seemed a little wacky but everything else seems fine...

pro2cer604, you got good service from a sales person at Richmond Subaru. Consider yourself lucky. Most, if not all, of our members have not.

Service is another question at Richmond Subaru... Please post here again when you get servicing done and let us know how it goes. Do you plan on doing any mods to your car? Did you get the extended warrenty?

Thanks for the info,

Ashton

GS116: You a troll? Never~

Guys, seriously, let's get this over with.

pro2cer604 brings up some valid points. I can understand a little bit why the salespeople at Rmd Subaru are so uptight about letting people testdrive the car. They are situated in Rmd, and as much as I hate to generalize and stereotype people in Rmd, they're all a bunch of YAHOOS. Abusing the testdrive car is not a way to make the salespeople feel comfortable about letting other people testdrive. That's why I can see why they are so uptight about letting people testdrive.

On the other hand, we've all heard or come to experience Rmd Subaru's wonderful customer service and friendliness towards us iClub members and fellow enthusiasts. There is a reason why we go to Specialty Subaru here on the board. To be honest, a lot of us DON'T go to Specialty just because they sponsor our club. We go because of their EXCEPTIONAL service and friendliness towards everyone, regardless of their MODIFICATIONS. They will work on your car no matter how much you've modified it. Unless of course you are asking for warranty work, depending on the circumstances they will help you as much as possible. You of course can't ask for a new motor when you've blown yours due to a overboosted turbokit right?

As for your comment about Specialty Subaru not having the amount of Subaru enthusiasts in their demographics, I BELIEVE you meant to say that Specialty doesn't experience the same sort of idiots that ABUSE the test drive vehicles. Cause if you really meant what you typed, then boy oh boy, you should really go talk to some of the people at Specialty. There is like GS116 said, a recently done rally car, they've worked on Pat Richards' car, and there are probably a lot more "enthusiasts" there than Rmd Subaru. And you can quote me on that.

Point of story? Go to Specialty for EVERYTHING, from purchasing of car to servicing to just hanging out. If you really want to, Docksteader is quite a pleasant place to purchase a car as well.

Richmond Subaru? I don't care if they're reading this, they can quote me on this as well. STAY AWAY unless you've got a hookup there like some people on the board here. Easy as that. Its been said MANY TIMES before, yet people still choose to ignore it, then they come back here and bitch and moan about being treated like crap there.
