I love my tint! I just got back from Livermore where Vincent did my tint. He was really cool - since I work during the week he made a special appointment with me today to get my car done.

I cruised on over there, showed up about 3:00pm on Sunday and while I kicked back at Charlies Subs down the road Vincent took care of everything.

I decided to go with 35% all around on my wagon. There's no bubbles, tears or join marks. Vincent even did my rear window in once peice - top shelf work - I'm really happy with it.

I work at the Lab just down the road. What are your store hours? I could be there by 2:45 on on any day between Wednesday and Sunday. By the way, what is the legal limit on how dark you can tint as well as how many windows you can do?

There's been an aweful lot of posts about this. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the scoop is that you can black out, literally black out all your rear windows if you want to. The front windows though are supposed to be fully clear. No tint whatsoever. Now when the cops enforce this though, they are basicly concerned about being able to see your face if they do a traffic stop at night. roll down your drivers and passengers window if you get stopped.

Oh yeah and there's always finding a cool cop to sign off on your fix it ticket if you get one . . . do I know where you can find a cool cop? . . . of course . . . not . . .

Vincent reckons that the same color all the way around looks classy - and I haveto agree with him. The 50% looks like it's not much of a tint at all. 35% looks realy tight - which I got, and 20% looks dark so I didn't go for it.

Chris, Brydon is right......you can spray paint and put curtains on all your back windows if you like, as long as your car have two working side mirrors.....the laws dont care....and for the legal stuff/front two, 75% to 80% varies from co. to co.

We have a brand called UVshield w/ 78% visible light transmission....on glass it provides a virtually clear appearance.... it is legal for CA

But I want to remove the front tinting and do the UVshield w/ 78% for the front windows.

i was looking up the rules for tint jobs in california, but couldnt quite understand them. i just want to get the side windows on front/rear tinted... thats total of 4 windows. how dark can i go? i'd like as much as 5% if possible.. i dont care about windshield or the rear windshield

It is illegal in CA to have your front windows tinted AT ALL (unless for medical reasons). Even if you bring your car in from another state, it has to comply with CA laws. Rears and back can go black if you want, you just have to have side mirrors. See here.

No. If you have your rears and back tinted, you have to have side view mirrors ON YOUR CAR... which most everyone does anyway. Not tinted. This is so you can SEE out of your car behind you in some fashion.

You can get your fronts tinted, just expect to get a ticket for it at some point. Many people have had them for years and never get a ticket, others get the tickets and have them signed off (fix it ticket) by cops they know, or just pay the fine.

The darker they are the more likely you are to get a ticket for it. Just roll your fronts down when you see a cop.

My car is almost 2 years old. I don't think there's any damage to the windows on the inside (outside the usual road scratches etc) - can I still tint my windows?
