Default 17 x 7 rim - which tire size for track?

Hi All,

I know this has been covered to a great degree, but I was having trouble deciphering all the info.

Here's the deal. I just got some track wheels 17" x 7". They're made in England "Team Dynamics" (I think) They're about 16 lbs.

My "racing mechanic" wants to know the weight of my WRX.

We decided to go with Toyo Proxes RA1s. Question is which size? My suspension is still stock.

Choices of size are:

205 / 40 - 17
225 / 45 - 17
235 / 40 - 17

Thanks, folks!

Mike

235/40R17 tires usually require 7.5-8" wheels as a minimum. Check Toyo's website to see what they recommend for the RA1s.

225/45 is a safer bet.
