ARGH! My eyes! Did they shoot these races with hand held mini digital camcorders? The streaking, pixelation and focus is driving me nuts. On the other hand though, I love the action. So all in all, I give 2 thumbs up. A definite improvement over the wall to wall NASCRAP coverage that will be starting again soon. Proof that V8 engined cars can turn both left AND right.

Ha, so I wasn't the only one that noticed the poor quality. I think those signals are highly compressed, and sent over from downunder on a crappy VCD.
![]() Same thing as the Tour de France race on OLN earlier this year, but at least the bicycles don't go across the screen as fast. ![]() And, Howard, I got the Pro Race Driver game on PS2. Was driving Sears Point... Pretty cool track that I'd like to drive in real life someday! The game also has a whole bunch of tracks from your old 'hood across the pond. ![]() -Ray |

I think its the PAL -> NTSC converstion, which requires making 'in between' frames to go from 25fps to 30fps. Those are what blur up the signal. I've seen it done much better than what those races look like though.

It's the conversion. I used to live in Aus and these races are crystal clear over there.

Well it's the Bathurst 24hr race thats on tonight. Theres also the V8 Supercars race at Mount Panorama coming up which I'm also looking forward to seeing. My uncle runs Team Brock in the series and he came out of retirement for one more Mount Panorama race.

Oh boy... Watched the 24hr race on Speed, and "drove" the track on the new PS2 game "Pro Race Driver". This track is wicked. Super long straights going up and down the mountain, and then very twisty hill section with gut wrenching elevation changes - and I was only driving an old school WRX, not a Holden or Ford V8. It's unbelievable!

How many forms of road racing have you actually watched??? There are MANY forms of road racing that has V8 powered cars on road courses including NASCAR. As a matter of Fact, a NASCAR pulls 1.5G's in the corners. Much more than any road car will ever pull. |

I've even watched V8s racing in England, where the land is relatively uninfected by ovals. But I was being sarcastic - obviously wasted in here. |

Imprezinator,
Our USTCC WRX is pulling 1.5G's in the corners. Or did you mean street cars? Gary Sheehan Motor Racing www.teamSMR.com |
