Got my first CEL, stock headers, Cat, ECU - Help please

WEll I finally got my first CEL, I have everything stock, except cat back exhaust, which I had for 4 months without any problems.

My gas cable was a little loose, so I tighten it up, but it turned out that I tightened it too much, the car started idleing at around 2000 - 1500. I went around a block with a few stop signs. and then after 3 minutes I got CEL. I went back and loosened the gas cable to the normal. Turned the car on and - it started to idle back at nornal 800-600, but CEL was still on. Then I let my car cool down for a 4 hours, turned it back on and still CEL.

So my question: does CEL not go away by itself? What should I do? Can I take it to a dealer? What can a dealer do?

If everything is all good, the CEL should go away in 3 cycles. (few days to a week)

I'd still suggest you take it to Auto Zone so they can pull the code and find the real reason why it was tripped. By the way, Auto Zone will do this for free as long as they don't have any customers in the store. So go when it's dead.

Alex, How many miles are on your RS? If you are under 36k just take it to the dealer since it will be covered under warranty. I kept getting CEL's with about the same setup as you curently have and it turned out that I had a bad o2 sensor and a bad cat. I had to pay for the o2 sensor but the cat is covered upto something like 5 years or something rediculous like that since it is an polution control device and the government requires that they last that long. Since your RS is only slightly moded any dealer should look at it without giving you a problem.
