I bought my car with a Tec-II on it, but to get it to pass smog, I have to change it all back to stock. The Tec uses a different front O2 sensor, so I have to get a stock one to get the car running again. The original owner no longer has it.
I called a few subaru dealers and they want $160 - $220 for one. I was thinking about picking one up at a junk yard, but I need to know if a front O2 sensor from any EJ25 will work. The car is a 99 Impreza 2.5RS. Does it matter what year I pull it from, if it's a Legacy, Forester, OBS? I'm hopeing to save $100 or so. Thanks -Josh

Try www.subaruparts.com they have the sensors cheaper then at the dealership, and I think they tell what other cars use the same part. That way even if you didn't want to buy from them, you would know which cars to look for.

You could try a Bosch universal. I'm using one for my rear 02 and its working great.

It appears you can buy a new Bosch front sensor for your 99 RS if it was manufactured before 07/99 for $51.20 at The Parts Bin. See http://63.89.49.212/partsbin/new/wiz...hepartsbin.com.

I had NAPA look for an OEM style Bosch connector, and they checked every warehouse in the states and they don't have them. |
