Um $35. Seriously. But I'll give you $50.

Actually I don't know, but somewhere between a 2.2L NA and 2.0L Turbo.

What does a 2.2T go for? I think I remember seeing someone selling their engine that they bought brand new through a Subaru dealership. I think they paid somewhere around $1300 (not sure).

For the price of an NA 2.5, I'd rather have a turbo 2.2L.

Ive seen most privatly sold EJ25's go for around $1k, and recycler/junkyards sell them for 1500+

I wouldnt spend more than 2000 though, especially when you can get a brand spanken new engine for that much http://www.noztune.com.au/engines01.htm

From www.noztune.com

EJ20 turbo DOHC - US$ 2016?!?

Huh? Am I reading that right? The site says that's the price for a NEW engine. How cheap is a second hand engine then, if the new one is only $2K?
Methinks it's time to sell my soul for a couple thousand dollars...

For comparison's sake, you can always pull Subaru part numbers from http://www.endwrench.com/618oepdfs/engcom.pdf and plug them into www.subaruparts.com or call Subaru dealerships (e.g. Liberty, Exeter) for their best prices.

Directly from the site:

EJ20 turbo DOHC
> A$ 3,600
> US$ 2,016

EJ25 non-turbo SOHC
> A$ 3,250
> US$ 1,820

If the 2.5L NA is $1820 then it looks like the 2.0L Turbo is $2016. Unless I am somehow interpreting that the wrong way.

Im more interested in the ACVS DOHC EJ25 on that site...

I think all of those engines are RHD JDM engines, and that cost doesnt include shipping from Australia ($$$$)
