Default OT: is performing an engine swap hard?

i have a mitsubishi mirage turbo, the engine doesnt work anymore, so i want to replace it with a 4g63t (?eclipse turbo)

the dimensions for both engines are identical, no mods are needed for the swap.

im just asking cause ive never done anything like this before. Ive seen the guys across the street do engine swaps in their integra, but i dont trust them, cause that integra is no longer running. these guys are like 17-20 years old. Im thinking if they can somehow do it, i can do it myself too

BTW, i have no air tools or just hand tools.

Okay I'll fill you in somewhat on this.
They are swappable I'm not entirely sure if there is any specific parts that are different like mounts/etc. I believe all you need is the engine and ECU.
You can get a JDM 4g63 for @$900-1800 depending on what all is included. Most JDMs will be from the GVR4's or early evo's 1-3 (GVR4's and evo 1's have red valve covers the 2 & 3 have a charcoal type valve cover). Most people say that the automatics even though they have "weaker tuned" cams are always clean and in great shape.
For that though you would have to remove the flex plate for the auto which is a pain to do but not impossible.
If you check on www.clubdsm.com in the VFAQ there is a link to Road Race Engineering's website that tells you of good reliable places to get engines and what to look for. You can also do a search on www.dsmtalk.com .
I know this because I may be doing this sometime when my 4g63 in my galant passes away.

It's EASY. Okay, it's easy for me because I do MR2 NA --> turbo Conversion. When I pulled the motor out of my DSM (AWD TSI) project car, I pulled the motor upward, which is the opposite for the MR2. So it was easy for me to do it. It took me 5 hours (yeah it seem long) but this was my first time pulling a 4G63 engine and I had to look at the manual for every damn step. I took time to mark/label the hose tooo since it was my first DSM motor pull. (I remember MR2 by heart and it still takes me 4 hours)

So again, it's easy. Also, even though the Integra doesn't run, it doens't mean they mess up. Like myself, I'm always HALF A$$ when it comes to my own project. When it comes to customers cars, it's an IN and OUT. ASAP.
