Post 604: Recommendations for paint shops

Need to get a new wing and side skirts painted. Anyone got recommendations for good paint shops (and ones to avoid).

I went there to get my Sub fixed. They oversprayed parts of my car and I had to get them to buff it off. Now there are tiny swirls in the paint. I had to clay bar it myself to get the paint back to how it was. For getting body parts painted physically on the car, I personally would not go there again.

They did however do a perfect job on my sideskirts and bumper; the difference being they took them off and painted them seperately, so no chance of overspray.

Autocraft Autosport Collision is at the end of No. 6 and Westminster Hwy. in Richmond. You'll probably talk to Eddie, the owner, or Roger who mans the front. Sorry, I have the # but it's at work...

Thanks guys.

The wing is a 22B replica. Adjustable carbonfibre centre section and brake light.

USD$ 340 including shipping.

It was one of two from the recent Automorph group buy. The group buy was for v5/6 wings but he had 2 of these arrive in the box as well. Brucelee got one and I got the other.

Really good shop for super custom work is
Proline Collision in North Van. They've done all our cars including the latest out - our 2.0 litre Audi A4. (you guys have seen my black S13.... it was done there too, along with our SR20DET S14, our 98' Suby, our 93' 3 rotor etc. etc. etc.)

Ask for Chris...but expect a busy shop. He always has tons of work going on.

Call them at 987-2533. He is a carshop, and guarantees his work.

Thanks Don.

North Van is a lot closer.
I'll give them a try first.

Another vote for Proline Collision in North Van. I've had work done there several times before and Chris has always done a great job.

Thanks for the recommendations guys.

The wing is off to Proline next week. I've taken all the non fibreglass bits off and already polished the aluminium and carbonfibre.

Now just need to figure out how to create an adjuster locking mechanism. The attachments that came with it are useless.
