Default VG2 false signals?

What would give a VG2 false reading on my radar detector?

every so often my detecter goes into "stealth mode" and tells me (yes it talks) that a VG2 signal was received. But unlike when i get painted with the X, K, and Ka bands which last for many seconds if not a minute, the VG2 signal only lasts 5 or10 seconds. This sounds like a false reading to me, but what can cause it? or is this the way it always works?

Thumbs up

i had the same thing happen with VG2 signal going off. i have last years model of the COBRA ESD 1020 - it is 9 band.

when i got my WRX i had a 6-7 year old radar detector that has been every car i have owned. i also had the problem of the laser signal going off when gassing it in the WRX. i tried my brothers detector he got a Radio Shack a year ago, and same thing happend just not as often.

with my cobra not once has it happend. i paid $130 or something for it with a 5 year service contract through Circuit City. mailed in a rebate for $25, so paid $105.

I have a cobra, i forget what model, but it never gives false laser signals... I hotwired mine in through map light circuit. the reason I mensioned this is because there are devices that measure the engine rpm through the cigerette lighter receptical. mabe it's that nonprotected power source that disrupts your laser sensor circuitry. Maybe the light wires don't have the same sensativity to the rpms...

So i take it the short duration of the VG2 is just normally how it works? It's totally unlike the other bands in that it's on/off, not always on? or do you all think it's just false signals from outside things or maybe even our own engine? I'll have to take note what I'm doing with the peddles the next time it goes off...

Post V1 works good

Just FYI, my valentine 1 doesn't seem to have any laser problems in the Rex... Well, except when I squirt WW fluid. Other than that though, I don't get false laser signals from WOT and such.
