Question Front lip for stock bumper

before you read, look at this: http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Forum1/HTML/009118.html

Where can I get a lip for stock CDN bumper ?

Is there anyone locally getting that weird looking lip from Germany ? If so, can I get one along with you ? I don't understand German..

Or is there anybody willing to replicate that lip ?

the V5 bumper doesn't seem like such a good idea since not only it costs so much, it's gonna be a bitch to deal with ICBC if I get in ****.. well so i think anyways.

thanks

The german one is $350 I think, and shipping is the same + Tax??, litle rich for my blood.

I swear I read a post a while back, and someone said they saw a 98 with a GReddy lip.

When I have some cash I may try one too.

yea! that sux.

Someone told me that all spoilers that fit V4 bumper can be made to fit and SPO said the SYMS lip will fit???, But its like $500US or something.

I donít want a V5 bumper, cuz everyone and their uncle has one now.
Besides I want to use the fog light holes for brake cooling ducts.

JaiMak : I've thought about 22b bumpers.. and yes.. I LOVE it
but what do you do with the bumper beam(re-bar) ?? doesn't look like that bumper can use what we have in Canada

the price might come out close to the V5 bumper, I'd get that if i had the money.. but need to know what needs to be done and what does the package include.
You got any idea ?

RageHardIntoTheBendies: got a picture of syms lip ? the one i have on the magazine is a one-piece bumper..

not bad..

yeah.. 500+ is a bit too much, but i'd consider it since it'd still cost more to get any other bumper.
... so expensive..

who has information about the 22B bumper ?
says 800(US ?), but does it include the re-bar and misc(fogs, signals) ?

Wink

I got a price for the 22b in edmonton from a local body shop and the bumper is 448. So is the vrs 5 bumper. that's only the bumper. Fog covers are 210, signals are 182. These are the prices i was given (no bargaining).

I'm planning on gettin the 22b along w/ painting my side skirts, in total my quote was 1241. I think it's pretty reasonable. Still waiting for some other places to get back to me. What do u guys think?

schlong8: it's probably fibre glass isn't it ? sounds like a good deal..
so that skin will fit the Canadian re-bar ?

of all those places you've asked, any of them have a lip for stock bumper ?

I'm not sure if the re-bar will fit or not. The guy didn't know either as he didn't hvae the skin. He would have to order it.

devo: where'd u get the price for the 22b from?

In ur guy's opinion what is better? fibra or plastic? which is usually cheaper? cause i'm a little confused.

schlong8: fibreglass are cheaper, they're "harder" but shatter/crack if you hit it enough. Urethane(plastic) would dent or bounce back, but won't shatter or chip.
Fibreglass stuff has a thing with insurance, which I'm not at all too familiar with(thank god I'm not).

I got the prices from my magazine thingy, also from Clement.. and STi website (just shows how much i don't like the stock CDN bumper)

RageHardIntoTheBendies: Aight, need website for MRT, or for that particular item, it's probably what i'll end up getting.

schlong8 - The 22b bumper that you got a quote for from that shop will require cutting the rebar... again it was designed to fit the 22B wannabes. It will fit the US spec RS with some modifications but will fit perfectly on the WRX.

there's only a few companys with it right now, and of all of them I've seen, all require cutting the re-bar... so it'll be a trade off for slow speed crash saftey and looks... really up to you...

It'd probably be cheaper to get a custom made front lip spoiler made as well as modifications to your existing bumper skin.

Just my 2 cents

Okay, I found the old post.

Who has good enough contacts in the Fibreglass industry that they could make the spoiler lip shown on the German site above? Anyone?

BTW, I know of no one that works with fibreglass.

My damned luck I guess.

Okay, I'll post the link here.
