Question Cobb cai question

Jezus, I know this is the world's dumbest question, but which way does the filter go? The Cobb instructions are cryptic at best, but they seem to indicate that the filter mounts with the "open" end out, which is the opposite of what I've seen on other conical intake setups, where the filter runs with the "point" out. It probably doesn't affect performance, but could affect air noise and stuff. What's the right way?

(fender < motor) or
(fender > motor)?

yeah, open end is out. This works because of the enclosure and velocity stack design of said enclosure. Causes less turbulence, supposedly
