If you plan on parking your car in anyplace that requires parallel parking I'd pass. A nice love tap from a car that would not normally produce damage could bend your bumper and crush the FMIC. That's big $$$ now.

I sometimes choose a parallel parking spot when I head into San Francisco. I seen too many people hit the car behind them as they pull in.

i guess my biggest concern about the fmic is how much more effective is it than the top mount? it seems to me that the top mount would just collect more heat since it sits on top of the engine. is it more adviseable to go with a larger top mount rather than a front mount?

There have been many discussions as to which is better.

People will have their own opinions on this.

The TMIC problem is that it gets heat soaked. As long as you are moving, you are fine. I don't sit in traffic very much so this isn't a concern for me.

The reason why I am not in favor of FMIC is because you have to cut the bumper support. I would rather not risk the safety for a few hp difference. APS does make FMIC that do not require to cut the bumper supports but they cost a pretty penny.

I am not going to comment on which flows better and whatnot since I do not have any kind of experience with flow testing/bend testing them.

You can buy JDM bumpers that fit MRT's FMIC. www.vividracing.com sell them.
