Default CAR-new sti review, EVO-s202, new sti

just wanted to give a heads up to run down to your local international press agent. CAR has the longer article on the new sti, more pics, but just get both, as EVO also has nice pics of the s202.

Now, is that a different yellow on the S202 than the sonic yellow? It looks so much less orange. Or is it just the photo?

Funny, I was reading the reviewers descriptions about the different parts and how they affect the handling, performance, etc. and I thought, hmm, we can actually get our cars to perform pretty closely to that. I mean, its not like the S202 has anything too proprietary (except for the good engine!). All the STi suspension bits we have access to. Transmission and diffs as well. Proper engine tuning brings us up close to that power level too. That is one thing that is nice about the parts availability for our cars. Most of everything on the hot cars is available for the lower range models, just waiting to be swapped in.

I think the S202 has a more normal yellow, I'm not sure why they didn't use that yellow on the US one... Paul Hansen from apexjapan said the new STi with the twin-scroll turbo is just as fast as the S202, while still weighing more. The S202 is based off the RA Spec C.

Sonic Yellow is a very weird color (not to mention hard to match at the paint shop). You have to (1) see it in person with a few mods (i.e. painted side skirts, STI hoodscoop, etc.......like mine ) to appreciate the color, and (2), the color looks different depending on the light outside. Sonic Yellow actually looks bright yellow, like a Porchse Speed Yellow, when parked under a street light at night time. It also looks Bright Yellow in bright direct sun light. However, in the snow, on a cloudy winter day, the car is very orange (Easy Cheese Color).
