I am just thinking what would I need to do to my 2.2L in order to make it as strong and powerful as the EJ22T.

ouch.... the EJ22g (turbo motor) has oil squirters, not sure where you would get those... and It has forged rods, but not pistons. I'm probably getting the block and putting my EJ25 heads on it and use it for a turbo motor But as far as I know the only differences are the Oil squirters and Forged rods. The compression ratio may be different as well, given it is a turbo motor...

There are much more differences then just oil squirters, compression ratio, & rods.

The bore & stroke are going to be different. The pistons are coated with a special coating to reduce friction. The obvious is that the block is closed deck.

Just a little FYI if your thinking of putting EJ25 heads on the EJ22T. The coolant & or oil passages do not line up perfectly. I suppose you could do the swap, but if you're spending the money to do a motor.....i wouldn't want to do it half arsed.

One of the members on the BC-BF list was goin to do the same thing.....he got the heads all redone, and then found this out, and decided to just keep the 2.2T heads. With a little bit of work, the EJ22T heads can be made to flow as well as the EJ25 heads.

Also.....you would reduce your compression ratio if you use the EJ25 heads over the EJ22T heads.

If you want to ask any specific info or have questions about the EJ22T, first gen legacies. www.bbs.legacycentral.org is the place to do it.
