Question Van. tire shops

What are some tire shops around Van. that have good prices and service? Looking for Toyo's, Yoko's, Pirelli's.

Thanks,
K

Have you tried Volco tires? They have shops everywhere, Coquitlam, Richmond, South Van., they seem pretty good, have alot of selection, and if they don't have it they can get it fast.

You might want to call Teamwork @ 438-7737 (out in Burnaby, and BTW I don't work for them). My sister got a set of Toyo Proxes FZ4 205/55/16 for her Legacy GT about 2 weeks ago for $140 each installed to replace those next to worthless RE92s. They seemed to treat her pretty well (eg, they didn't treat her like an auto-challenged female). She likes the FZ4s much better, eventhough they look a bit flatter than the RE92s (both 55 profile).

Just decide on what tire, then call all the local tire/wheel shops to get the best price. BTW, Volco had to order in the FZ4s for $180/tire if she wanted them.

yeah...Teamwork has pretty good deal for tires...I got my Toyo T1S there too!

i think they are offering $205 (plus taxes)included M & B for Toyo T1S...205/55 R 16...so it might be a good idea for those of u who likes to drive fast/hard especially for cornering...FZ4 is better than RE92...but still doesn't have good traction...(i have tried 205 50 R 15 FZ4 and 195 55 VR 15 T1S on my Civic...T1S really perform way better than FZ4...especially when it rains...)

Volco is pretty expensive and i heard Super GT and a tire shop on Hasting at Commerical is quite cheap too...(i never deal w/ the first one but the second one they do bad jobs...so u might just get the tires there and get them mount and balance somewhere else)...

1/ Several years ago I got a set of Yokohama's for an old BMW. I found PG Automotion the least expensive after many phone calls to shops around town. They were also the friendliest in terms of service, just don't judge the place by the way it looks!

They're at 1390 Pemberton Ave. North Vancouver, 985-4696.

2/ I have always found Volco pretty expensive when getting quotes on wheels/tires. However, I almost always use them for mounting and balancing (changeovers) for my TSD rally tires. They're quick and usually cheap for M&B work.

YMMV

So by the sounds of it, the stock tires aren't that great. What kind are they? Bridgestone? Is it an all season tire or something? Pardon my ignorance, i'm new to the Subaru world. Thinking of getting a 2.5 RS in a year or two.

Also, what is the stock 0-60 times on the 2000 2.5 RS? I did a seach but most of it was on modified cars. Is 8 seconds just about right?

Thanks for the info! I'm probably going for all season's like the FZ4's because I rip up to the mountains sometimes, and for those freak storms in Vancouver. I'd treat myself to BR Poles but don't have an extra set of rims. I ripped the sidewall on my old car cause I took my winters on off too many times... Anyone wanna sell a set of scoob rims? :P
