Default 24 hours of Runoffs on SpeedTV Christmas Day (and kartindick)

Starting at 6:00am EST, Speed TV will carry all 24 one hour SCCA runoff shows back to back.

Be sure to watch for our own Jonathan Dick (kartindick) in the Formula 500 event. There he is center screen with his name plastered across the bottom about halfway through the race.

Enjoy your Christmas! I'm getting out the blank tapes.
Steve

No way! Speed Channel sucks! They show too much NASCAR!

People that say that stuff just crack me up. I can't believe the good stuff on Speed Channel. I love the British Touring Cars!

Anybody know what size those Alfa engines are that they have so much more power than BMW 320s in the Eurotrash Touring Championship? Are they boosted? They allow those cars to rev up to 9400 rpm! And I thought only the Japanese could make high revving engines...

Remember, Alfa is part of the same company that has that "F"-brand cars with horse emblems which are running away from everyboyd in F1.

I thought that was Fiat? Alfa is really part of Ferrari?

(Almost) everything in Italy is part of Fiat! [Which GM has a 10% stake.]

Alfa and Lancia are direct "brands" under Fiat; but Fiat also owns ~90% of Ferrari (which also has Maserati under its branch, I think).

Ferrari does have a lot of independent control, but the fact is it is part of the Fiat family. However, I do think Alfa and Ferrari are more different than say Chevrolet and Pontiac. Probably more like Citreon and Peugeot racing each other in WRC.

Default Don't want to start any more NASCAR bashing but...

I watched about seven of the runoff events. While I did notice some recognized racers (Huffaker/Peterson/etc.), aren't the majority of the participants "amateur"? I was pretty amazed at the level of professionalism, although I did see a stupid wreck in CSR.

I also saw some NASCAR Truck coverage (of one race) that was full of boneheaded moves -- including some real stupiud ones. Am I missing something? Obviously 200+ miles and 20+ drivers gives plenty of opportunity for stupid mistakes, but the contrast was amazing. It almost seems like NASCAR likes the "excitement". I think some of the SCCA drivers would be an "upgrade".

If I'm wrong, what am I missing? Don't flame me - educate me...
