Can't say I like them when they call in middle of dinner or certain other things, but I make cold-calls at night in my office so I understand completly that its just their job.

they are so fun to mess with...I always ask the magazine sales people if they come in brial, or I just act like I have about 5 personalities.

If they call during supper, tell them you are interested and that you will call them back if they give you their number, they always hang up.

Ill have to try that one.....I like to mess with them and act like you are totally in love with them (have to be a female telemarketer) and eventually break them the question, will you marry me? Its great to hear the different responces.

I agree. I use my cell phone for everything, so nobody I know ever calls my land-line (it's there strictly for DSL). Since I moved in, my phone has been ringing off the hook with wrong numbers and telemarketers, often at ungodly hours.

Since nobody (including my parents) has this number, I just pick up the phone and answer with something to the effect of:

"Butch's house of erotic pain. Would you like to make an appointment today?"

Sometimes the response (or lack of) is priceless!

Got on the do not call list a couple years ago, pretty much aren't getting calls EVER anymore.

Oh, and you can technically get them fined for calling you if they call again, BUT, you need SO much proof that it isn't worth it on your end.

I usually don't answer when the caller id reads unknown caller. Most of the time it's them. And when I do pick up and it's them, I'm just too nice to just hang up on them so I listen to them babble about their "free" magazines that you have to pay $3.50 a week for. My new year's resolution is to be meaner

AT&T was calling every 3 days, even though every time they called, I asked to be taken off the list.

They called one evening before my medication kicked in:

Hello

Yes, I am calling from AT&T about about our super saver........

If you call here again, I am going to hunt you down, pull your F-ing arms off, and hand them to the person sitting next to you. Do you understand?

Yes..........I think so.

They have not called in the last 3 months.

After I hung up, I almost wet myself, laughing.

Sorry to you tele-marketers, but I don't call your house; stop calling mine.

You know who the WORST telemarketer is? It's the UNITED STATES ARMY.

They crazy motherfunkers won't leave me alone! They have been calling nearly everyday for two years. It started when I was in highschool. The local recruiting office was trying to contact me to inform me of their school assistance program. I didn't mind initially, but I flat out told them on the phone that I wasn't interested. After that, they began calling me because they wanted to schedule a face to face appointment with me. Again, every time they called I told them I didn't need their money for school. So they finally stopped calling for a few weeks.

Then one day that summer, the recruiter CAME TO MY FRONT DOOR asking to speak with me! I flipped and told him that my school was paid for already and I did not have any desire whatsoever to join the Army.

Now I'm a sophomore in college and they are still calling my house hounding my parents. This is almost harrassment!
