Default deresonated midpipe

I have a WRX catback on my RS, and last night I deresonated the midpipe.
it sounds really cool now. Except that occasionally there is a wierd burpy/farty/grinding noise, it seems to happen randomly. My friend thought it might be an exhaust leak, but wouldn't an exhaust leak be more consistant with the wierd sound?
Besides the wierd noise, it sounds slightly evil, growling and such. I want to say like a teensy V8, but not quite. At idle, it sounds normal and quite, and WOT I notice little noise change. All the difference is when I slowly speed up. I think I might take my CAI out tomorrow and see what the exhaust sounds like by itself.

I dunno if it's backfire. It doesn't really sound like it.....it's kind of a grinding noise. Also, the chirping when I shut off the car is way louder now.

That is a leak. There is an area in your exhaust that is not sealed properly. You may want to check for that.

mine does the same thing.

it kinda seems like it has something to to with temp and humidity as to when it does it.. but maybe its just coincidence.

bu I have a bad weld at a flange so I know where my leak is coming from

Be sure also to check for cracks, especially near welds...
