Arrow Why rally kicks booty!!

Why does rally kick so much booty you ask? Well, because it's less than a month until both the 2003 SCCA ProRally season get's underway, and the 2003 WRC get's the party started. None of this whimpy waiting around for the snow to thaw crap that you get with other forms of motorsport!!

So that being said, I would like to make my predictions. (Feel free to chime in with yours also.)

WRC: Manufacturers: Subaru!! (Perhaps wishful thinking, but they did end the 2002 season on a high note.)
Drivers: Tommi Makinen - Taking his unprecedented 5th title, and retiring at years end. (Again with the wishful thinking.)

SCCA: Manufacturers: Subaru. (Clearly the team to beat now that Hyundai pulled the plug.)
Drivers: Hmmm... this is tough, but I'm going for Miggins, (Let's hope he has a ride.)

Anyone else?

Mike

Hi Mike! How've you been?

What's this "snow" of which you speak?

'03 Predictions, eh? Hmm... How's this.

WRC:
manufacturer: (going out on a limb here) Peugeot
Driver: Burns (in a close battle with Gronholm for a while)
Notable: Solberg wins his 2nd and 3rd rallies.

SCCA: It'll be a Subaru, but will it be a factory car or AVS again?

there's been a fair bit of rumours of people mistu is picking up for prorally next year, and if they make the one's i've heard, mitsu will be much more competitive this year than with rhys driving...

My WRC predictions:
Due to their consistency, Skoda takes the manufacturing title without ever actually winning a rally.
Panizzi wins his first gravel rally.
Petter wins drivers' championship.
Luis Moya and Nicky Grist replace Ralph Shaheen for all english language WRC broadcasts.
Pugeot's active weight transfering system revealed to be cloned captive trunkmonkeys forcefed only brie cheese.

You heard it here, first.

Here's my predictions...

WRC
Manufacturer: Peugeot w/Subaru again close behind.
Driver: Burns or Gronholm.
2003 Highlights:
Solberg wins 2 rallies.
McRae wins Monte w/Xsara.

SCCA
Manufacturer: Subaru w/AV Sport heading the charge.
Driver: Jamie Thomas one of the Higgins brothers or Tapio (I'm hoping he'll get a full ride here)
2003 Highlights
Jamie wins PGT (if she gets a PGT ride) outright.
Johnny Milner comes over, rents that Jeep Scrambler that shows up @ Sno*Drift every year and wins w/2 min. to spare.
slidewaysmike & mykr. get sprayed by Tapio this year instead of Sprongl.
slidewaysmike & mykr. win production in swm's Vdub.

Well there is that possibility, we'll just have to be sure and find that same spot again this year!!

Ha-Ha!!! Now you really are dreaming! For starters I will probably only enter 1 or maybe 2 ProRallies, and even then we'll be concentrating on finishing with all of our panels intact, and probably not fighting for victory. It's gonna be mostly Club for us my friend. But hey, you never know, if Powerball comes through for me in the next few weeks we just might make it to more rallies.
