Question Auto-xr's...anyone else going PRO this year?

http://www.precisionracingorg.com/index1.htm

Seem like alot of the "issues" that have plagued my class; STS, in the SCCA eries have been addressed in this series....plus there are a few events in FL already listed....SCCA events would make for good practice....

I might check out the San Francisco event. You could consider it my "home track"

Candlestick is a great place to dodge cones.

I might try the exibition, after looking at the proposed classes, its going to be hard to be competitive when you can't change the emission equipment (I.E. can't remove any of the 3 cats ) for any STS or STX prepared car, that eliminates the Touring and improved Street classes if you have done an uppipe on your WRX.

Rumor has it that this rule will change before the season begins.

I'm sure they will change rules to accomodate as many people as possible and NOT alienate people from the corresponding SCCA classes. I'm going to try and do the first one of these that is in my area, which is South Bend, IN at the Tirerack facility. It'll be a good warmup as it's right at the beginning of the season here. (April). About three hours from where I'm at. I see on their site now that Tirerack is putting up money for the top 25 of every event... I love ice racing here and rallyx but I'm itching to start autox next year.

Sure sounds interesting (especially the immediate timing and scoring). I will probably try it if there aren't any scheduling conflicts, but I try everything (autocross, rallycross, rally, ice racing, track days, etc.- lots going on up here).

Too bad I won't be able to give old D_REX a run for his money in Houston!

Looks like I'll just have to run the Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky events to start with.

I'm hoping they'll change the sections below as I'm not sure why they're deviating from STX like that.

Class Information: Improved Street
2.5 ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN

2.5.2 Headers may be added. Modification, removal or replacement of the exhaust from the catalytic converter back is allowed. The OEM catalytic converter must be retained.

2.5.7 Emissions equipment may not be modified, replaced, or removed.

We may try to hit the BeaveRun event or anything else close to Ohio.

Looks like the big money is in the year-end totals.....I might sitback and see what develops and base a charge in '04 on that.

I bet we could make it there in 8 hours.

Yeah, but to qualify for year end points... you'll need like 4 or 6 events.
