Question I think I have dual port heads?

Ok I have been told that my car has single port heads, its a 95 2.2L legacy L. I was under there and took a look and it appears to have dual ports. Are there an engine gurus who can tell me for sure? Or anybody have picutres of their stock header? They look like dual ports but I'm sceptical because of what Ive been told. Have I been told wrong? Thanks

Josh

It's pretty obvious which you have if you know what to look for.

The single port heads header is the same diameter basicly right till it hits the head. Like there is only one pipe comming off. No way it could be mistaken for dual port. The dual port heads are most simply described in a picture.

You can see the "y" shape of the dual port header on the bottom.

Hopefully this clears it up. I would like to start a registry for EJ22 owners that could help clear up some of the mystery of what years had single/dual port heads. I've had both personally.

Not a bad thread, but still a bit inconclusive exactly what years came with what heads. SubyTechMaster came pretty close, but still didn't go into detail about years with the phase II heads, and the crossover. I suspect the 96 or 97MY has a mix of parts. The whole California spec deal throws a nasty wrench in the cog too.

And Jeremy, I swear wherever I go there you are!
I'll check out the other thread if I can find it.
