Default Windshield washer nozzles

Are there other ones that will fit? After playing with my parents Dodge stratus's washer spray which was nice and even covering the entire windshield, makes me wanting more of my "Beam of Fluid" nozzles. Ideas?

huckedup16-dude your car reminds me of TRON.

My GF's '00 Outback has a nice spray wash, while my '98 GT has more of a direct stream shot. Possibly find one off of a newer car?

Peace,

Yea. I like the way the blue and green mixes. Sometimes a catch slack for having neon but i like it. Its not like I drive around with the exterior stuff on. At night it looks tastful. Plus the subtle lighting gets chicks in the mood!

Default Fan spray; Adjustable or not?

I asked about these nozzles for my car about a year ago. A mechanic at the dealer told me that some people complain about the newer fan spray ones because the hit the windshield too low. They are NOT adjustable. I didn't realize that, so I dropped the idea of changing them.

Are any of the newer cars from Subaru equipped with a fan spray nozzle on a ball socket so that it IS adjustable?

I know that in Canada you can get nozzles like this at Canadian Tire for a few dollars. They have a threaded stem. They are not a direct replacement (eg, they won't just 'snap' into place). I was going to try them this summer but didn't get around to it. Next year when it warms up.

That... and perhaps add a top mount sprayer for the rear window. Stupid spray nozzle on the rear wiper pivot point that shoots up. Grrrr...

LOL!!!

Guess I'll go looking into the newer model in the junk yard for some nozzlesto try out. Need to beat that winter grime.

Also, For those that drive in winter conditions, Does it seem that your windshield picks up more grime off the road and on to your windshield than your other car/ friends cars? I'm constantly having to use the wipers and spray to clean the windows while driving with my Bro in his Dodge Avenger in the same conditions, seems to not need to. Anyone else notice this or is just my imagination?

Lightbulb Washers don't work

piker28:
Try pulling the hose off the bottom of the washer and blow back through the nozzle to clear out gunk. Also, check to see if you have gotten car wax stuck in the nozzle. I use a strand from a wire brush to CAREFULLY poke into the nozzle to break up the dry wax.

sovereignmk1:
I don't know about collecting more dirt than other cars, but I use "RainX" all the time so it is a moot point. It also helps when you get freezing rain or frost, the stuff just slides off easily.

Revitalizing an ancient thread...

I was at the Subaru dealer today and asked about newer nozzles. I snapped something off in one of the two little ball sockets on the passenger side nozzle a couple years ago, and have just never gotten around to replacing it. I very vaguely recall that my '99 had the "fan" style, and the parts lady was able to tell me that there are different part numbers for the '99 and '97. However, they didn't have any in stock, so I couldn't compare to see what would/wouldn't be interchangeable.

So for those '99 owners who haven't totalled their cars and are still driving it today... what style spray pattern do you have? Fan? Or two jets from each nozzle?

And has anyone checked to see if the '00+ nozzles are a direct replacement on the BD/BGs? I know they're the fan style, as I checked one in the lot while I was there.

I have a 99 L 30th, and my front windshield washer pump quit. I pulled it out, opened it up and the thing was sucking water into the motor, so it got all crapped up.

Priced a new one from the local dealer.... 80 bucks! Looks like I don't need the rear one anymore, it is still clean and new looking around the brushes.... but the dang connector and hose orientation is different. Looks like some new hose and a splicing kit is in order....

Oh yeah, I was going to tell you if mine fans or streams, then I remembered that it does not even work right now!

I know the 99+ models have the fan spray, I also think some of the 98 models had them as well.
