you could set the camera on a tripod down really low, position the car just right. Then set the camera's timer and drive by. It would probably be much easier to do with two people and you would have to be DAMN careful when you sweep past the camera....

thats my guess. However, that shot looks more like a camera was rigged somehow behind the car....

That wasn't done with a stationary tripod on the ground. The camera is moving the same speed as the car, that's why the background is blurred and the car is sharp.

I would guess someone hanging out the back of a trunk, maybe with the camera mounted on a monopod to get closer and use a remote to fire the shutter?

wide angle lens; mount that latches on to trunk, rear tow point, other solid part of car and extends down and to the side, and cable release to operate shutter.

really cool effect... really useless contraption to do anything other than mount the camera outside of a car.

Duh, of course. I was thinking something like that at first, but was thinking you'd have to use suction cups and they probably would have trouble supporting an arm long enough to do the job. Didn't even think of something that bolts on.

That would be a lot of fun.

heh, well, i'd be very hard pressed to find a friend who would be wiling to hang out of my trunk and extend themselves far enough out and that low to the ground and take a decent picture....plus you can see the trunk closed

I think the wagon flaring is a lot cleaner than the sedan flaring.

That's because the wagon's fenders aren't flared nearly as much.

No idea how much they weigh. I guess we can weigh one on a bathroom scale.

As for where to buy them, I'm not allowed to say. But if you look at the picture for more than 2 seconds you should be able to tell :P
