FYI...
"pics" is short for the word "pictures". "Picks" is a completely different word which means, things which have been chosen.

Default Black WRX Window Tint % ? Help!

Hello, I just ordered a 2006 Black WRX!

Can you tell me what window tinting % you recommend on a black 2006 WRX?
Also if you could post some of your pics with your tint % that would be most helpful.

I am a newbie to the WRX but have been reading up on these awesome cars for some time and since my old car is 13 years old I figure it was time for something new. I am so happy to be joining you all!

Thanks!

Whatever % you feel safe driving with, and whatever is legal where you are at. Those 2 factors are important when considering tint.

Thanks, I just looked up the requirements for my state "SD". It says:

Front Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 20% of light in
Rear Window Must allow more than 20% of light in.

I am not experienced in window tint so I do not even know what that would look like. You think that would look good?

it will look ok but not good...that % you can look through the window it's just like ok but not cool...you want to get the darkest possible so it matches your car it will look very good but it's illegal...cops doesn't really just pull you over for that but if you speed or anything else they pull you over they can add the illegal tint...check it out my 3000gt limo tint that's 5% all around moon roof too...ya you should do moonroof too or it will get too hot..sun comes down directly..ok here is my 3000gt vr4 limo tint pics http://community.webshots.com/photo/...56466677kttEmI

and here is my 06 wrx 7% tint pics http://community.webshots.com/album/548614208JJlUHB you can see inside a lil it's dark but if I have limo tint on that black wrx it will looks so sweet so get limo or follow your state requirement and be legal

Thanks for those nice pics! Your tint on that black WRX looks awesome!

I am wondering if I just go with 20% all around that would likely look pretty good and from what I have read I should be able to see at night a lot better than with 5% all around. It would only be slightly illegal using 20% vs. 35% on the front side windows, lol
Any other thoughts or pics on the 20%?
I will post pics once I get mine done.

Limo is dark, I can't remember what my tint was on my Stratus, but my friend did the tint job and he said it was one up from limo. And even I had some difficulty seeing things like parking spots. But thats what I'm going to get on my Subie, whenever I get around to it (and have some extra cash).

ya limo tint and my wrx's 7% at night you can't really see...side or rear....when I turn I have to roll down the window...it's really dark and pretty dangerous at night....but it looks really good and people can't see you inside...I like to keep a low profile...I say just make it legal so you don't have to worry about anything..and you can see easily...

I have trouble seeing out of my car at night (20% metered at 12% (yes, officially.... ) 35% isn't too light. I think it works.

hey Javwrx very clean ride. If you took out the amber of your headlights and blacked the housing out it would be gameover!

I run limo tint on the back half of my car and I have no problems seeing at night. It does require some getting used to though but since my last 3 cars have been limo tinted I am accustomed to it already. The front windows I run 35% which is darkest legal in TX for front windows.
