Default Injector noise

Ok so i have been hearing an odd noise coming from my engine bay. Tonight I did some poking around and it sounds like it is my #1 injector. The rest of them sound fine. It is a hissing noise coming from it upon letting off of the throttle. I expect a sound like this when hitting the throttle but not after it is released. Could it be stuck open?

I don't know much about injectors so I'm in the dark on this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Buster

Not sure of the answer to that one. The drivers side is nice and quiet.....I'm taking a guess it should be similar on the passenger side.

Funny, my scoobs been acting up when it's cold. If I leave her outside overnight, when I start her up first thing in the morn, I hear a knocking sound comming from the driver side cylinder bank.

I don't know if it's just lifter noise, noisy injectors, piston slap, or real deal knocking. I just know that it's annoying ass hell because it's LOUD. Of corse, it goes away when the car warms up and never shows it's head when the temps do not drop below 30.

Oh well, Subaru it looking at it right now so I should have an answer in a few days.

the injectors should just make a ticking noise and that's it, a hissing injector would indicate an injector which is stuck open just allowing fuel by.

It would ruin your engine because the oil will be washed away from the cylinder wall. If you catch it fast the only issue will be excessive blow by in that cylinder and lower performance.

Is there any way to check the injector? Possibly pull it out and notice something visually? My gas mileage has been lower than normal but I associated that with the cel from the rear O2 sensor.

not entirely true, it COULD hydrolock a cylinder(if mechanically stuck open), but if it's shorted to ground internally halfway thru the casing it could stay open half as much as a static injector would while maintaining enough of a stoich mixture to keep the car running. It's weird but i HAVE seen it. And a lil FYI, the Rear o2 has NOTHING to do with gas mileage
