Default New to the WRX World ((EX Bimmer fan))

I am new to the world of WRX; I just received my car last Thursday. My prior car was a BMW M3 and to tell you I like the WRX as much as the Bimmer. It was too good of a deal to pass up I purchased the vehicle at dealer cost ( My father is the friend of the owner of the subie dealership and a subie driver himself). I purchased the sonic yellow with all the up-grades except exhaust. It has the STI short shifter and suspension up-grade, the stereo upgrade, and the boost gauge. I look forward to being a member of this board and learning a lot from all of its members. I HAVE A NEED FOR SPEED & A LUST FOR MODS

Welcome from a fellow newbie to the WRX world. Watch out, though, mod fever is rampant here!

I got my WRX wagon mid-Nov. and already spent nearly 2K in mods - put the wheels and tires on today. (You'll maybe want those as the stock tires are somewhat lacking).

Good luck!

Congratulations.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the total price for your WRX?

Yow! It's very cool that a car came with the suspension option installed. The only things that you need for the car are stainless lines and uprated fluid for the brakes, and Kartboy shifter bushings for the STi short shifter.

Welcome aboard!

I couldn’t tell you the exact price at the moment because it is down in my vehicle. But I can give a proximity. Sticker was a little over $29000 but I paid just over 26000, I got the vehicle at dealer cost. (DEAL OF THE DAY

Lovely price, but did you get the STi shifter, boost gauge, stereo upgrade and suspension package (installed)? Not for that price, you didn't. That $26K with all of those goodies is an excellent number.

the sticker price on the suspension upgrade alone is 1800 dollars, so for 26000 and all the stuff he got was a good deal

Well, considering that his sticker price was over 29k and yours was 26.6k, I would say he has just a few more factory options than you. And he says he paid dealer cost, which to me translates to invoice, which you are NOT going to beat by thousands of dollars, no way, no how. He has more options than you and I would say he got a pretty good deal. You may have gotten a good deal also, but you also didn't get all the options he received.

I did infact get all the options he recieved all the Sonic Yellow WRX's that i ever saw has these options because its a Limited Edition. I have Short Throw Shifter, STi Titanium Shift Knob, Upgraded Sound, Upgraded Security, Boost Guage, Auto Dimming Mirror, and Upgraded Suspension.
The fact that i got the lower price is just too bad...we live in 2 different states whos to say the price isnt gonna be less in Pa vs. where hes from!

Wow! Then color me impressed! Are your struts red? That's the best way to know if you have the upgraded suspension. If they're black, you don't.

I would bet a whole lot of money you DIDN'T get the Sti suspension. The MSRP isn't different based on what state you live in and yours is too low to have those options, including the suspension. The WRX suspension is upgraded from the 2.5RS suspension and is probably what the salesman meant when they told you "upgraded suspension". MPowerd has the Sti suspension which is a level above the WRX suspension.

Default Deal of the day

Dude you must have got the deal of the day if you got a Short Throw Shifter, STi Titanium Shift Knob, Upgraded Sound, Upgraded Security, Boost Guage, Auto Dimming Mirror, and Upgraded Suspension for only $25,210 after taxes. That is the exact same package I have, and like I said earlier I paid more than that and that was at dealer cost. The dealer must have Fudged UP on the invoice if you got it for that price. The only reason I got the car for the price I did was because my father is a friend and a business partner with the owner of the Subaru lot. Around where I live it is difficult to get a WRX below sticker price unless you know someone.
