Talking Exhaust funky idea I could do...

With my stock cats/header combined with a custom 2" midpipe w/out a resonator and a WRX exhaust, I was thinking I could get another WRX exhaust and just chop off the muffler and reweld the hangar and use it as an auto-x/track muffler thingy... I might also get borla headers soon (that or a racing seat, havent decided)

Good idea/bad idea? (Note, I have a 1.8 is why I am only running a 2" midpipe)

Anyone try this?

Should I do something more, uh, complicated instead? (cherry bomb ALA subiegal )

why not find a muffler shop that will bend you a 2.0 strait pipe from the axle back, probably be cheaper and you can get one of those pep boys crommie tips to put on.

2" Straight pipe to a two chamber flowmaster would be a good set up for you. If you will be running the same exhaust on the street, the resonator is a good idea.

Subie Gal's exhaust is pretty damn throaty for a 1.8... Started a car back from her at the Oregon Trail, no sneaking around with that exhaust (or the Yellow paint)...

and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy new year!

BTW, I dont know anything could be cheaper than FREE

Anyhow... I wanted something that was small that I could just throw on before an auto-x. A catback pipe would cost me around $80 and I couldnt just throw it in the trunk And like I said, I already have a straightback pipe after the cats, theres just a WRX muffler in the way

Borla headers would round out the system nicely.

Can't run headers in Production or PGT Classes though. Could really kick out the Dbs then...

Your car would be real throaty and responsive with headers on it. Also harder to sneak through town.

Im in ST-S/X already, and I know headers are allowed in ST-S as long as the stock cats are retained I believe, and in ST-X alternate cats are allowed. I just now read over the rules to double check. (note: CEL eliminators are allowed too )
