Post How much louder is the Stromung than the Brospeed/Subaru?

I was thinking about getting the Stromung instead of my Brospeed muffler. How much louder is it? Has anyone heard the difference? I do not really want to have an exhaust that is going to get the cops attention. Some people say that it is too loud and others say it is not that bad. I think that the Brospeed is pretty quiet and am looking for something a little bit louder.
I drove a Nissan Maxima before the RS with the import Flowmaster on it and it was tolerable. Any input?

Thanks,
Scootr

Oh yeah,
If I got the Stromung and I thought it was too loud, would putting the stock midpipe with the resonator hurt the performance much?

I had a Stromung and swapped it for the Brospeed. Same deal with Greborb so ask him too.

I have a wagon so the Stromung was really loud. Difference? Once ISR put the Brospeed on, my initial impressions was, oh, it sounds like a stock muffler. SOooooo quiet. After living with it, I know it's louder than stock and is perfect for the wagon.

Don't know the answer to your midpipe question though.

So do I miss the Stromung? You bet, it sounded awsome when driving locally, but made the car unusable for long distance freeway driving.

My gas milage has gone up since I swapped to the Brospeed too because I don't get to play those Stromung tunes anymore. But then it was only a matter of time before I got pulled over I think, anyone can hear you coming a block away, including police. lol I think I made the right move before this happened!

I love the Stromung. I haven't had any experience with any other exhaust but I'm sure no other exhaust sounds deep like this one. Driving 2 hours in the car also doesn't bother me. So it depends what kind of person you are.

If you had the Flowmaster on your Maxima my bet is that you are going to find the Stromung to be just fine. If it isn't, a good resonator (not that tiny little thing in the stock midpipe) will change the character of the Stromung for the better. I found my single tipe with a 2/2.25 midpipe and 14" resonator to be much, much more bearable on the freeway (I had an unresonated 2.25" midpipe prior). But ask Red RS and Skywalker, they own my Stromung and special midpipes now.

I think those who give up on the Stromung most likely didn't try the right resonated midpipe, since that makes a big difference in the tolerability of the muffler, or were too noise sensitive to go for anything more free-flowing than the Brospeed in the first place. Since you had a Flowmaster (not known for low noise levels!) I think you are not in that group and will be fine with the Stromung.
