Question MY99 Intake question?

I am going to buy an intake for my 99 RS this week and I was wondering which one would give me the least problems with the MAF. I know Rallispec makes a great one, but it costs $350. I was looking at the new Weapon-R Dragon intake, and since I have heard good reviews about the previous Weapon-R intake, I was curous if anyone had any information on the new Dragon intake? If I am going to see immediate problems with the MAF sensor, and if so, should I just spend the extra money and get the Rallispec intake. Thanks for all your help.

That's a nice setup. Does the car feel like it has more power, because I know an intake would def add more hp than this setup.

Does that mandrel bent Al pipe really make a difference over the stock piece that goes in there? Does it get a bit louder because of it? I basically have that setup, but without that piece and was wondering if it is worth the time to get one. Also, where did you get those connectors. Thanx.

Although in the latest issue of SCC I saw there is another place to get the connectors. I can't recall it right now.

Do you need the Al connector? It's not absolutely necessary I guess but it is smoother and will give a less turbulent flow would be my guess. I didn't try it with the OEM connector there in the RS. However, in my wife's Legacy 2.5 OB I have it that way (with the OEM connector, K&N and no snrokus) and at idle we get a low frequency harmonic moaning type noise. I think with the Snrokus removed you may get the harmonic noise with the plastic pipe there. It's hard to say because other parts of the intake on the legacy are different than the RS. The Torque box for instance is smaller on her 97'.

Not sure I answered your question though.

I had to cut my pipe down too, but I have a copper pipe cutter. The type with a cutting wheel that looks like a big C clamp. That worked like a charm. My dad was a plumber so now I have all his tools.

I did a lot of mods at the same time and I couldn't say how much the intake alone contributes.
