Hey people, now that 245-width tires are approved for STX, more people are going to be needing wider wheels to put them on. There just aren't many options right now, so I'm going to try and get the ball rolling...
Please help me make a list of people who are interested in buying a set of 16x8, ~42-45 offset wheels for our cars. I want to be able to reference this thread when I email and call people from Rota, so please reply to this thread, listing how many sets of wheels you would buy. I'd like to do this same thing for tires also, probably talking to Falken. Thanks for your help...

1. Scott Borg (1 set)
I'd be willing to pay $600 for the set, including shipping. |

If they are going to be STX wheels... PLEASE make sure they are made to clear our legal for the class upgraded brakes.
Also... why make a wheel that there's no competitive tire for? (the only 245/45-16 tire that's remotely competitive is the SO-3 ) I just do not get it. No offense, but 'just to have it isn't a good reason in my book. You'd be doing more harm than good in getting this wheel... [QUALIFIER] at this time due to lack of tire choices. [/QUALIFIER] This is a 'nice to have' not a 'need to have' item. --kC |

Rota makes a Slipstream in a 16x7.5 but from what I have heard. It doesn't clear the STI 4 pots
and like KC said, make them so they clear aleast the v6 STI 4 pots. |

Put me down for a set of 16x8" or 17x8" Rotas. And a second for plenty of brake clearance please

Actually the slipstreams are only 16x7"
I'd like just a 16x7.5" don't need an 8" wide wheel. isn't 7.5" the MAX width for classes like STS? Doesn't STX abide by these rules too? I don't have a currnet 2002 or 2003 rule book obviously. I wish Kuhmo would make some 215 or 225 45 - 16 tires (victoracers) for us. The best we can get is 205/45-16 or 225/50-16 I'd since I've got 3.90 gearing I'd like to lower it, but not be stuck with the 205 width. I want some real tires since I can't run in any street tire class the way my car is now. Thanks - Jon Last edited by omahasubaru; 01-03-2003 at 11:13 AM. |

I'm potentially interested in 16x8" wheels, but tire availability is a problem. I'll kill my current tires first, and then I'll evaluate the wheel/tire options again later this year. |

I'm assuming that tire companies are going to start making some competitive 16" tires now that the STX rules have changed. Like I wrote earlier, I'd like to also contact tire manufacturers and reference this list.
Personally, I'd rather have 16x7.5" for STS, but since most of the people on this board are WRX owners, it's more likely that the Subaru crowd is going to want 16x8" wheels. I've heard rumors that they're thinking of bumping the 2.5RS up to STX anyways. -scott- |

This was just sent in the Street Touring mailing list. Not sure if it is ROTA specific, but it was a ROTA wheel . . . . . This was from a Houston Region SCCA member:
