Default mysterious oil leak - need help

First my setup - no power-related mods at all, none. I have done some suspension work only.

So, I park my 2002 WRX (about 10k miles on it, three oil changes since new) in the garage yesterday after lunch. I come out a few hours later to move the car and there's a small amount of oil on the ground, about the size of a roll of quarters. Its engine oil I believe. The oil was located directly under the downpipe, right below the turbo. After jacking up the car to get a better view, I couldn't find any trace of the leak.

I haven't changed the oil for about a month, so its not from that.

Anybody ever heard of or had a problem like this? I'll probably endup going to the dealer and they will probably not find anything and send me on my way until it happens again. I really hate taking my car in...

Any help would be great.

-Mark

do you have the stock drain plug or a fumoto valve? and it could also be your tranny oil, have you gotten that changed recently?

I've got the stock drain plug.

The oil appeared on the ground behind the oil pan.

Haven't changed the tranny fluid yet.

IMPEXRALLY - I guess is could be power steering but the fluid level is fine. Where is your leak?

The fluid on the ground looked just like engine oil but who knows.

I've read a few old threads where people talked about weird intermittent oil leaks. Anyone heard about that?

I'm afraid it might be turbo related. Does engine oil flow through any part of the turbo or near it?

I think your oil line, from the turbo, may be leaking.

These are the pictures I took when I found out my Power fluid is leaking.... and I am still waiting for subaru install the ordered parts under warranty. I would recommend put some white garbage bad or huge paper underneath the car when you park your car in the garage overnight. and try to find out where's actually leaking. Best when you just drove home from work or school, while the car is hot....
It worked pretty well for me...

Thanks for the input.

IMPEXRALLY: After seeing your power steering fluid I can be sure that mine is not a power steering leak.

rwallaesa: I'll check out the oil lines to the turbo.

Thanks.

I am taking the car in to the dealer tomorrow to have it looked at and I'll post the results.
