Default RPM Surge

I just bought a 2003 WRX, and have a quick question. When I am up shifting, I let off the gas then depress the clutch. When I depress the clutch, the engine's RPMs rise by 200-300 then drop.

I have owned several cars with manual transmission that have not done this. I was wondering if all WRXs do this (due to the turbo perhaps) or if mine is goofy. Please let me know if you have any thouhgts as to what's going on.

Thank,
Jason
