Default Question: Why are the WRX fogs so bright, and...

Why couldn't the headlights be the same? I was in a stock lighted WRX, marveling at how poor the 9007 setup is. I flicked on the fogs, and whoa! Bright, white light. I know the fogs take H-series bulbs, but it seems odd that someone at Subaru wouldn't have noticed all those RSes and WRXes rolling around with the fogs on, to get more light on the road...

fogs don't throw the light far, so road close to the car is well lit up. the headlights obviously have to throw the light much farther and wider than the fogs.

the stock headlights on my subie were a great improvement over my previous car.. an escort zx2.
if you're concerned about light output, get some hid's
i got morette hid's

even in this slightly blurry pic you can tell there is a BUTTLOAD of light
