Don't take it personally, but that STi scoop looks heinous with those stock wheels.

Nice move on the JDM sidemarkers, I would have gone with the smoked lenses myself, red + orange = yucky. Other than that I have to give you props for orginality!

Actually Im goin for the Spec C Limited (only new-age STI to come in red) look, so I had to choose the amber ones. The wiring is in place now so if i ever do decide to change color, i can just buy a new set and sell these off fo someone else local.

The amber doesnt really bother me that much, and I dont really notice that they clash that bad. I was gonna clear my headlights and paint, but i think i may just leave them stock.

Next up will be the roof vent and wiring of rear fog light (along with OEM rear fog light switch, thanks to a salesman from my company going back to Europe soon)

I know the stock wheels need to be upgraded, but i chose to put all my money into a down payment on my own townhouse that I close on in 2 weeks from today. Wheels can wait, my tires are still good and have plenty of tread to get me to work and back. Once I can afford a set of V7 STI golds, they will be mine. Until them, im deciding whether to just paint the stock ones gold to mix it up a bit and give it a little more personalized look since i only know of a handful of locals with gold stockers.

Its integrated into the stock taillights, just a really bright bulb on the left side only, AFAIK only euro-spec cars have them, maybe JDM but I thik only europe.

Its actually integrated into both taillights from the factory, right one gets wired up for rhd cars, left one gets wired up for lhd cars. Thats what it looks like to me. Check for yourself, the middle bulb in teh red area of the taillight has dual filaments. And as far as i know, both sides have the pigtail wire on teh socket, just begging to be spliced into to use the 2nd filament.

In the USA it is legal to have ONE red rear foglight on the driver side of the vehicle. Why its not installed at the factory since its already there, is beyond me.

Im not sure since i dont know about other countries, but i would think this is probably an "option" worldwide (except the usa) except for countries that require it by law, which is probably why its integrated into all production units.

Oh, and cutting the fenders was the easy part. Trying to source plugs for the markers is the hard part. I just gave up and used female spade connectors. Wiring is super easy if you have ever wired anything in your car before.

My Father's old 99 Audi A6 2.8 had a rear fog light. Just the drivers side one lit up, the passenger side light (both were on either side of the license plate), was just a reflector. people used to tell us we had a brake light out lol.

I thought the single light on the drivers side was for parking durining incliment weather. When you were parked on the right side of the road the drivers side fog light would mark the outside edge of your car for other drivers.

Smile Hello from cold wet Scotland !!!

Hello to America from cold & wet Scotland (it's not cold & wet all the time by the way)

I've got a 2003 red Impreza WRX, had it for a couple of months now and it's got a few mods:

18" KEI Racing wheels in silver with Toyo T1 tyres
Tinted glass
High-level rear spoiler
colour-coded side skirts
Ninja back-box
green panel filter

Some nice cars on your site folks!

Andy

It is for that purpose also, essentially the rear fog light is to provide sufficient auxiliary lighting in adverse weather conditions to make your vehicle more visible to any and all traffic behind your car.

I doubt a red light would actually provide sufficient light over the already bright clear/white reverse bulbs that activate when you are backing up. Especially since it would be more important to see more of whats behind you on the passenger side of the car.

pretty off topic but just to clarify volvos have those lights too, was told by volvo that it's for slow drivers on autobahn style roads, so when they change lanes to pass other slow traffic, high speed traffic knows they are moving slowly in the fast lane.

Here's some recent pics to get us back on topic
been too lazy to host them...
taken 4/24 in whittier, ak.

That first one's a keeper. I'm about to start an all-day wash, claybar, and wax marathon, so hopefully I'll have pics up by the end of the day. I've got my foglight covers in, too, btw!!
