Post NEED MORE POWER!!!!

Just gotta say that this club is great. As a new, proud owner of a MY01 R.S. sedan, the site has helped answer alot of questions. I love the car but it definitely needs more jam. Seems the way to go is high performance intake, headers and exhaust. The question I have is," with these three things accomplished will a definite power gain be seen". Its alot of money to spend if your only going to get a nice sound and a few ft/lbs of torque. The manufacturers always tell you that h.p. and torque gains will be made but are these exaggerated? I would like to hear from people first hand what they feel.

I have cobb CAI,UOR pulley and Stromung dual tip exhaust and it makes a difference I saw about .6 seconds off my 0-60 time and the motor revs much faster. The intake made it much faster in the top end and if nothing else it at least sounds fast.

I also have the strommung dual tip with the borla headers cabb n/a cams and the cobb CAI. I am very happy with my gains, very happy. It sounds very mean also. if you want to stay n/a, and you want good power, I would go for the cobb cams, they give some real pull on the top end of the band. Anyway, welcome to the club and enjoy your ride!

PS: You can get the cams and a bunch of top of the line subaru aftermarket parts at www.cobbtuning.com. Enjoy!

Wink

these mods should give you a view of some power. STAGE 1 if you aren't going force induction......(the low compression heads are for the future turbo, you don't have to change those.) it should give you right above the 200hp mark....

You will feel a difference for sure. I have had a couple of people report up to a 1/2 second drop in qtr mile times with just a GanzFlow intake and nothing else. I'd do a lot of reading about what people have gotten out of their cars with mods and go from there.

Certainly an intake, exhaust, pulley and good spark plugs are worthwhile. The JC Sports torque chip, fuel pressure regulator and a bigger fuel pump, and a lightened flywheel will also make a big difference. Some intakes will sacrifice more low-end power than others that keep the stock air plenum. Some exhaust will do the same if you go too big (over 2.5"). Decide what part of the power band you want to tune for, and go from there.

If you wanna save the warrantee without returning stock parts when you go in for service, the COBB cams look like stock cams, are hidden inside the engine where the shop can't know you have them, and will give you 14hp on the dyno at the wheels with STOCK intake and exhaust.

Good luck,

Larry www.ImprezaRS.com
