Default Killing our cars?

Hey all,

I've owned my 2.5 rs for a couple of trouble free years now and I've been lurking on these boards for a while. My car is nearly stock, with a cat back exaust, weapon R intake and under drive pully. I'm probably making only slightly more than stock hp. From the black exaust tip and occational "burps" from the exaust I'm sure I'm running rich (anyone know how to fix that by the way?).

It seems to me from the posts I've seen around here that serious mods KILL our cars. I just read about blown center diffs, head gaskets, clutches, and more! I know that if you drive like a dick, you'll mess up even a stock car, but hey you bought it, you might as well use it.

I'm wondering if there are any success storys of dependable power out there? I'm looking to keep my RS for some time and part of the reason I bought it was subaru's reputation for reliability.

BTW, I do drive like a dick myself, but only when I come accross a snow covered parking lot or a perfect on ramp that's just begging for some fun. Moderation is the key.

Mike

How is it you have a WRB 2001? Just curious...

It's actually blue ridge perl....

It's closer to the WRC blue than the 2002 cars though...

Well, TECHNICALLY speaking, I can say that my BRP is World Rally Blue as well.

As BRP was "pretty much" the exact color of the 2000 rally winner.

Of which my car is made from the same mold

2000 RS World Rally Blue

Yes, I like that MUCH better than BRP.

Cheers Boy Racer.

I've always felt that although we don't have the performance to back it up the pre 2002 were the best (meanest) looking and had the best color choices... That's just my opinion of course, I'm not looking to restart that discussion! However I think the older body style does demonstrate that we were "there first", i.e. fans of rally before it really took off in the US.

WRX owners would probably reply "Who cares, my car is stronger, faster, better" and they'd be right, but they just don't look as good.
