No MSRP yet eh. Is the MSRP announcement saved for the 11th??
Anyways, Subie surpassed all expectations for now eh. So since this 2.5L tops the EVO, I guess there's a good chance that Prodrive will be heavily involved in North America powering up WRXs? Cheers- |

My question is, since it is a 2.5L what are they going to do about the WRC since they cant exceed past 2000cc's

Japanese cars will still be 2.0l, and will be the basis for the rallye car.

Local dealer here says 37k. Seems high to me. Dunno if he meant "out the door" or thats just to start. Guess we won't know for sure until Subaru says it !
PS they normally charge MSRP only. I don't think this is his outrageous markup. |

The WRC car is an Impreza so any model impreza (STI, WRX, or not) with a 2.0L counts |

It may be bad news for some, but the spec on this new car is EASILY worth 35K. With 300lbf @4K this thing will eat other manufacturers offerings at the same price point. Who else has a car of this high state at close to the likely cost? That is not a question directed at an HP number alone, but the entire package...

Who knows...maybe SOA will surprise us again!
I can't see it being more than 5k over the EVO (which brings the STi under 35k). I mean, besides the engine and DCCD, everything else STi has EVO has too....although STi will most certainly kick EVO's a@#! |

seriously. nothing currently on the market will be able to compete with the complete package...wow wow wow. so much for all the fears of a watered-down US version. wow. $35k will be a bargain, IMO. hopefully they can keep the interior quality at least to a $20-25k level.
on the other hand oh man, there are going to be a lot of COCKY Sube drivers out there. not to mention the STi "conversions"...ricer heaven. ![]() |

Not that Im betting it would be, but wasnt there an original statement of less money than the EVO? Let me repeat, I do not think that this is now likely!

Curous about the MRSP. It can't go too high, as it is otherwise pushing Nissan Z territory.
If the price is below the Evo, Subaru will just annihilate Evo sales and not allow them to get any foothold in the market. This would be great for first time STI buyers but in the long run I'd prefer both cars (Mitsu & Sube), as well as other similar cars to be on the North American market. |

Hey all you guys, SOA reads this board! Enough with the "it's worth $35K" talk!
STI? Yawn. It's an OK car...maybe worth up to, say, $32K if you're into that sort of stuff. Certainly not any more than that. ![]() Seriously, I think we're in for a long wait to see what MSRP is going to be. |
