Post Help!! autometer tach

I just bought one and cant make it work write. I did a search and nothing came up. some people told me I need to send it to the company and have it re-calibrated

it is a autometer 5" tach with shift light. it can be set for 8,6, or 4. I set it for four. did all the wireing, started it up and it only reads half of what it should. I tryed it on my friend s car to see if it was broken or not but its fine. help.

try switching it to 8

I had the same problem. Yes you have to send it back to the company. Tell them to put a rush on it, and they will have it back to you in a week or less. Also just a helpful note. If you are mounting it on the a-pillar make sure that you let the bottom of the tach rest on the dash. If it is not in contact with the dash it will wiggle around and eventuelly tear the a-pillar plastic peice.
