Exclamation APEXi N1/tanabe racing medallion question...

i know the N1's are loud, but are they LOUD? i don't want to sound like the space shuttle going by when i roll by da 5-0!

the only reason i'm looking at an N1 for the exhaust system i'm building, is that i can't find ANYPLACE that sells just the racing medallion canister. the tone and noise level of the tanabe are what i'm after. if anyone knows where i can get just the muffler...

i realize the fabrication of the rest of the system will factor into this as well, but i have a better idea of what i'm getting with the tanabe. if anyone can point me to a website that sells something besides cat-backs for hondas, i will be forever grateful...

I don't think the tanabe racing medalions are that loud. It's not too bad when your driving normal. Before I bought the exhaust, I was afraid it would be too loud but it comes with a silencer. Also sound great at wot!

yeah, i figured they'd be similar...but i'd rather go with the racing medallion...please, PLEASE tell me someone sells the canisters separately...

also, since it's going on a 1.8, the exhaust diameter will probably be 2-2.25"...what size inlet should i get?...the N1's come in 80 and 60mm.

i have the N1 and a friend has the tanabe racing m. and neither one is that loud. i had the borla prior to the N1 it is loud. in the car at highway speeds you can barely hear the N1 which is very nice for long trips. the borla on the other hand got to me after a while even though it is still the best sounding exhaust i have heard on a subaru.
hope this helps
oh yeah both N1 and tanabe come with silencers.
