Post Anyone running a loyale turbo(JCS AutoX turbo)

Who runs the AutoX turbo from JCS?I know Diz did (...and I'll track you down soon .) Has anyone else? I only rode in his once, so I don't remember much of it.

Ask Diz who he sold it to - I consider the Legacy turbo to be the "auto-x turbo" also, with instant boost vs a larger compressor.

Um, that turbo is barely big enough for the car its on. Getting it much past 200hp takes an intercooler and a act of god.

300hp isn't my goal. 9psi through that thing made 0-60 in low 5's to high 4's just on it's torque alone. Killer torque from a ridiculously small turbo seems like another interesting route to take. Another thing I was thinking was a K03 turbo from an Audi. Diz' car made excellent torque with practically no lag. Larry's didn't have much, but I could still make it lag. Is that from just driving the car wrong on purpose? I'd like to be able to leave it in gear and pass without much trouble. Winding the snot out of an N/A car just to pass someone doesn't seem smart. Heck, the wagon just zips to 6k and could break 13's in denver pretty easily. It's apparently hard to keep under 100. They can run 18psi through it . Larry's car did 0-60 quite nicely, though. That's the other kit I've been thinking about. 300hp would be a very bad thing for me...having never had it before. I'd never catch my insurance rates

I'm working on collecting all the parts needed to assemble the legacy turbo onto my car(using OEM crossover pipes, uppipe, and turbo). Intercooler is en route, then I am just short the BOV, RRFPR, custom downpipe, and oil/coolant lines.

Not really sure what you are looking for...

I'm just looking for opinions, really. I talked to Joe earlier today, and he said there wasn't much interest in developing the kit. Maybe they get a better response from the Legacy turbo setup. I don't really know. The Loyale turbo I rode in didn't have the upgraded piping, so I was wondering what people's impressions were of the old one. There's an excellent post under another topic on here that discusses turbo sizing.

I have the TCI, not the II. It's nice. I hope you got the II. You really need the fuel pump, though. That will give you better increases. It carries all the way to redline now that I have it in. Plus, it has a wicked howl above 5200 that only came after i put in the fuel pump. It still runs a little rich, but that's better than too lean . I'm done adding fuel to it in N/A form now. It's considered "turbo prepped" now

I wouldn't bother with it, Gary. The difference in lag is inconsequential between the loyale/legacy setup. However, those that have been in my car would testify that is was creating more than 200HP. The main thing I had to worry about was my intake temps getting too high with the small compressor. The larger turbo is also quite a bit smoother.

Thanks dude. I was wondering when you would chime in . Hey, am I going to have to beat you to that compressor of Al's or is it free game? See ya on the 10th, unless you'll be at the AutoX this weekend.
