Post 2 cats - 1 cat = hp?

I am in the process of fitting a WRX RA exhuast to my car. The midpipe has no room for the second cat that I have on my car. It will however bolt up to the first cat, no problem. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the second cat from the RS and just install the O2 sensor in the pipe. Will this cause problems? Has anyone ever done it?

the hp gaine is not too significant...
you probably won;t feel it what so ever..
but it does free up the restristive air flow on the stock system a bit...
i suggest that you get rid of your first cat and just put on a high flow cat.
that would be a better choice, well that is what i have done on my car...
you might get a ce light though...
hope this helps

I am also planning on fitting the engine and stuff from the same car so this will help with the turbo right?

it will help for now..but remember once you go turbo you will probably need to change to a bigger piping and different cat.
most likely will be a high flow cat.
with the high flow cat putting a turbo later on will help.
bottomline you will need the high flow cat sooner or later if you plan to go turbo.
hope this helps

I think that since I am going to do a "stock" turbo motor, the exhaust will be good for it. I am doing a full EJ20G swap.

Back to origional question, does anyone know if it will throw a CE light?
