the flux capicitator was adapted into the '00.... other than that, N/A and general forums were added into the ECU so it knows what it has that is different from the '99... oh yeah, the '00 is also a drug addict, it does some LSD...

viscous limited slip rear differential (00-01 RS, not in 98-99 or 02+)
yes, MAP sensor only... no Mass Air sensor.
4 door available
rally blue gone, blue ridge pearl in its place
black diamond pearl gone
red returned after 1 year without, but is "sedona red pearl" instead of "brilliant red"

oh i thought that the 99 had a lsd to.
is the ride diff. from 99 to 00 due to the lsd, and is the lsd noticable in autoX?

I've noticed that my MY99 outhandles Tapper's MY02 (at least on public roads, I haven't autoXed it yet)

Seriously, it should make a handling difference, at least in theory.

You know, you could always drop an STi LSD into a 99 if it really matters that much.

well im looking into buying a 2.5 in the next month or so and don't know if the LSD is a big factor or not, just wondering if the extra $$ is worth for the my00rs.

That's what I figured, but IMO, it would be worth it just to get away from the MAF sensor. Depends on what your price difference is and what you plan to do with the car hop-up-wise (i.e. what class in autoX) Those are more important considerations than a simple part that can be replaced relatively easily.

You want the MY00.

The LSD is a big difference, and the MAF sensors are big headaches.

Do a search on them here. LOL

Shouldn't be more than a 500 price difference.

Most dealers don't even know the difference between the 99 and 00.

So most don't know they could charge more for the MY00.

Cheers

Will

Only difference between 00 and 01 is the carbon fiber look interior is standard in the 01. Since the 01 was going to be the last year, I have a feeling they were trying to get rid of the cf look stuff that no one wanted :-)
