Default Best front and rear big brake kit...

What's everyones opinions on big brake kits?

I need something that's bigger/more powerful than stock but will fit 16s.

I've been looking at the new Wilwood kits. 6pot front and 4pot rear... but not sure if they'll fit the 16s.

What's everyone's suggestions?

Oh man...you need to use the SEARCH TOOL, but I'll help you out with the little that I know.

The Wilwood 6-Pot/4-Pot will not fit under the 16's. You'll need at least a 17" wheel. I think the only brake set-up that'll fit under the stock 16's is the Perrin kit, but I think they're others I can't remember.

Go to 17's. Then you can get a few different kits.

Wilwood and Rotora are the only companies I know of doing Front/Rear kits for 17" or larger wheels that involve larger rotors and better calipers. Rotora's rear kit isn't availiable yet, but I've got pics

Yes, I would love to go 17s but I don't want to have to change my brake setup whenever I want to rally or use snow tires. There's no way I'm rallying on 17s.

So, my thought was to get the biggest rotors/calipers I can for 16" that way I can swap wheels without a problem.

What are you needing it for? Are you fading your brakes now? The stock brakes are pretty good unless you are doing repeated high speed brakes....

Well, I dunno. I suppose I should get it out a bunch and see what it does. I want to get into autoxing and rallying and I figured upgraded brakes would be a good idea.

You don't need bigger brakes for autoX. autoX is such low speeds and its over usually in less than a minute.

Bigger brakes won't help you stop faster, it will just let you stop repeatedly at high speeds without fading. Tires will more likely help you stop faster.

For what you're doing it sounds like upgraded pads, fluid, and stainless lines will probably be enough.

Probably overkill. You could get some better DBA rotors for up front and the legacy rear rotors (bigger than wrx) but I'd do the other stuff first. Just my opinion though. If you plan on doing lots of trackdays then a big brake kit would probably be worth it.

Yeah, unless you're running track days, A big brake kit is probably overkill.
