Question turbo/supercharger

I really want to boost my performance and I have a question about which is better system for this powerplant, super/turbo charged. Also which companies sell the most complete bolt on kits. Any help is greatly appreciated.

While there are several companies that offer complete turbo kits, there isn't a...reliable...company that offers a supercharger kit. I don't know if they even sell them anymore.

My suggest...do a search.

Also, click on "Links"...you can find several companies that have turbo kits for sale online.

Some kit's may vary. Turbos will have a bit of lag, bigger turbos will have more lag. Depends if you want instance response or high revving response. Superchargers don't have lag and will give you a instant tug on the other hand, turbochargers require a high rpm to spool up the thing(some turbos R at full boost@2700RPM. If you are running an automatic, go for a supercharger(Rimmersuperchargers) if you have a manual and don't race much, but like instant response then supercharger it is. If high RPM is where you seem to bo most times then a turbocharger is the thing 4 u. you can run a turbo on a automatic too but you'll just start a bit slower then usual.

jcsportsinc.com
rimmersuperchargers.com
bpmsports.com(turbo 'n IC seperately sold, not kit but equipment is there)
ask someone about the Minnam kit!

There even seems to be some low end issue with the new WRX auto. Supposed to "bog coming off the line if not driven properly". Say what? Got this from the salesman who sold me the last three Suby's. He got it at the pre-release meeting.

Given a choice, I'd go with a turbo over a supercharger. A supercharger is mechanically driven, so it robs a little power, but not more than it gives back. It can also be a b!tch to tune because it increases the mass of air in the cylinder, so you have to really pay attention to how much fuel is in there as well as the timing. Yeah, I know, you have to do this with a turbo as well. I like the fact that a turbo is not dependent on mechanical input to work. They're also more plentiful for our cars from what I've seen.

Someone post that you'd probably be able to get more power from a supercharger, though, and I tend to agree with that one. Anyhoo, go with what you like and whichever gives you that warm fuzzy feeling.

Thumbs up

Hey Ed!

Have you gotten that beast back from Texas yet?

Hey Gigolo... err... I mean Juggalo,

Since you're fairly close by in Nevada you might want to talk to Robert of Forced Air Technologies (forcedairtek@aol.com). He's located in Prescott, AZ (which would be a bit of a drive for you, but it might be worth it - it's less of a drive then Ed made). He's done turbo's for a couple of the locals here in AZ and he does first rate work. Check out his handywork at www.AzScooby.com (look for Aaron's RS and Kastle's SVX in the members section). Oh, and tell him he owes Bud a discount if you buy from him.

Hey Red,
Nope... Trey’s still got it.
The RalliSpec exhaust just arrived. It won’t be long before it’s ready for tuning though.

Andre,
You’ve got to calm yourself down...

Hi,

So is that for MY00 4EAT RS, its way better to install supercharger instead of turbocharger?

Thanks.
