Thumbs up Two thumbs up

I have the TurboXs turbo back exhaust and itís very nice. I installed it first before my other mods and you can tell the difference in mid and top end power with just the exhaust. The sound it makes is awesome.!
It was defiantly money well spent.

This is the sickest exhaust. i have heard many other exhausts and exhaust combos and this one takes the cake. if u can get away with it, get the racing pipe, i am in ny so i have to settle for the hi flow cat.

Hey guys... I want to get the TurboXS Cat Back. What exactly does the race pipe do?

I want the muffler (magnaflow rocks) and I like the tip.

Can anyone PLEASE post some pics and audio clips of the cat back?????? how does it sound?

Not sure on the muffler sound, but the racepipe basically eliminates the third cat. You can get the system with one highflow (3rd) cat or go completely catless from the turbo back. Sound is a little louder than stock @ idle and beautiful @ WOT

Threw a Cat Efficiency Below Threshold(P0420?) with the race pipe a couple of times but it went away. Haven't seen it again. I'm pleased with mine, though I wouldn't have minded if it was a smidge louder.

I installed the TurboXS Turbo-Back with Hi-Flow Cat.

Sounds great, not too loud so it is fairly "police-safe."

VERY noticeable power gains, esp. at mid to high rpms. However, I seem to have turbo spool about 300 rpms sooner. I also swapped the stock IC hoses with Samco hoses so some of that spool might be attributed to the hoses.

You will not be disappointed with this exhaust!

So, no CELS with the high flow cat then? I got mine yesterday and waited to get it installed, also waiting for a STI uppipe....
I've heard it sounds sweet with a Prodrive axel back...

Please view this thread about TurboXS and CELs:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=430121

I plan to go with a Cobb Stage 2 flash or an EcuTek flash whereby the CEL would be effectively programmed out. The cat-efficiency threshold is increased so a CEL isn't triggered.

I also want to get the Turbo XS complete turbo back...

I think I am going all catless... I do have emmisions here but I gotta get a way around that.. I want the most power gains from the exhaust possible..

From being on their site I really can't notice a big difference in sound from the regular muffler and RFL... does anyone have any personal experince with it to give me an idea on how loud it is?

I REALLY want the boxer engine to shine through if you know what I mean :-)

I like how the regular muffler looks.. nice and shiny with the round curled edges... but you get better performance out of the RFL... but it just looks so tacky looking.. Looks like a damn honda coffee can :-(

Ya, i'm also wondering what people think between the regular and RFL-ti catbacks and how they sound? Is the RFL to loud? With states that have anal emissions testing a police, does the RFL cause you a lot of trouble?

For those who are asking how loud the RFL is. Take a long hard look at TurboXS parts and part numbers.

High Performance Boost Controler = part # HPBC

Thus RFL must = Really F#$%ing Loud

I know the RFL stands for really fing loud... but that doesn't help me...

How loud? The looks of the 4" stainless steel one is awesome... the RFL is alright looking.. kinda rice in my opinion... but you get the most performace outa it... which is want I want.

well i have the rfl ti and i would probably compare it to the sound of the nur spec not as obnoxous at low speeds like the nur spec but you really hear the boxer engine when your hittin boost but i only have the axelback and up pipe so i dont know how the turboback will sound hope that helps

I got mine installed yesterday, matted to a Prodive muffler. Not really a difference in sound to me, but the power gains are very nice plus the turbo whistle is cool. I do however need to cut the heat shields so that they'll fit back in..

ok...next question.... how many people with the turboback/stealthback used header wrap/heat shielding?
What about Upipe shielding?

Nathan, from TurboXS, told me over the phone that wrapping or coating their downpipe VOIDS THE WARRANTY!!!

Heat stresses the metal, esp. at welds, and wrapping can end up causing rusting by trapping water.

There is a nice aftermarket bolt on heat shield avaliable at http://www.speedmonkee.com that is quite effective in keeping heat away from the intercooler. I use one and everybody who has seen it loves it.

Just installed a stealth back with my stock muffler on my 02.
I'm very happy with the performance gains, quality of the pipes were excellent. Fitment, there is one issue, the little tab you have to use to secure the front of the exhaust to the car. I would think after having this system on the market for this period of time they would have made a modification so that you don't have to bend things to get it to fit.
The only other issue is a CEL. Right after I got it installed I took it out for a spirited drive and during a 5th gear pull at 3000 rpm I threw a CEL. I did not have time to get it checked because the CEL light went off on it's own, I'm assuming it was a cat insuff. code.
Overall I would highly recommmend the system.

No CEL for me yet after a few thousand miles but I plan to get the Cobb AccessECU which sets a wider tolerance so no CEL occurs.

Here is a thread I started earlier about the TurboXS and CEL and there is also a poll:
