he had an accident and his whole engine bay was on fire so everything has to be replaced, wiring, hoses, everything burnt. this was all caused because during a misfortune his fuel injector was not working so as he pulled out the old one waiting for the new one to arive the same day, his friend not knowing sat in his car and tried to start the car, as he turned the ignition boom the engine compartment went on fire. so his car is crippled and he wanted me to ask has anyone done this he is thinking of eithe rthe present wrx engine, or any older sti version engines. he wants to know if there are anything that he has to watch out for while hes reinstalling everything, yea hes gonna do everything from scratch by himelf, i will help out of course. hes seen a few front clips around so he will be starting on his project. i will post some pictures when i get them. any information will much appreciated. thank you

There are a few threads scattered over a couple forums on this. To sum them up, it can be done. The mechanical part is not too hard, while wiring the ECU is said to be the most time-consuming PITA part of the job.
