Default So, I was talking to my girlfriend the other night...

And so I told her the new WRX STi is coming out. She is not much of a car buff, but she could tell how excited I was. I think the jumping up and down and giggling like a school girl gave it away. Anyway, so we started talking about it and she actually asked me, "So how much is that going to cost us and when are you going to buy one?"

So, to me it almost sounds like she is giving me her blessing to go out and buy one? What do you all think?

What's this " cost us" business? Blessing? She's your GF right? NOT your fiancee, or your wife, right? Then tell her it costs 32000 Booyams, and you're getting it from Non of your Business Subaru, right off the Turnpike.

Man, if that were my GF, I'd be like, "Hey! Get back into the kitchen and make me some pie!"

I will say that my girlfriend makes more money than I do and I do plan on marrying her, so... financial decisions need to be discussed.

My woman is telling me she doesn't want me to get one. The comment following was I don't want to hear you complain that you don't have enough money to spend on me....lol guess I ain't getting one =( well yet anyhow pay for our wedding first in a few months then i'll ask her again after we're married and still be told no. Might want to buy my new motorcycle first, and I bet she'll still say no... know anyone looking for a very built 9.90 sec 1/4 1996 GSXR 1100 so I can use the money towards the wedding instead of buying something else with it? SHe'd be pissed if I bought something now...

I'm just going to cry and hide in the corner because I got schooled by some east coast speakin' people. Us out here west peoples don' use terms like 'turnpike', 'Booyams', and 'Non of your Business Subaru'

OK, but seriously... I know that a turnpike is a part of a freeway, but what the hello is a Booyam and what does non of your Bussiness Subaru supposed to mean?

Eh, well, see, the problem with that is that I probably would not be able to afford it without the help of my one and only. See, I am living in HER house and she pays all the utilities and mortgage.

Well, it is not AS good as you think. But it will be in the future. I am in a, what I like to call, a transition phase right now. See, I like with my girlfriend, but my stuff lives with my roomate in his house. I told him that I would help him pay for his mortgage until he got a new roomate and I can fully move out. It is nice though he is not making me pay for any utilities though. But, my rent each month is pretty cheap.

I believe he meant that it shouldn't matter what your girlfriend thinks, you should buy it if you can afford it.

Just run it through the "smart-ass" filter in MS Werd 2002:

Quote:
What's this " cost us" business? Blessing? She's your GF right? NOT your fiancee, or your wife, right? Then tell her it costs 32000 Booyams, and you're getting it from Non of your Business Subaru, right off the Turnpike.

Why are you asking your girlfriend for a blessing?!? She doesn't have your nuts on the wall yet so tell her you can afford it and its none of her business if you want to buy it.

If that was his (silverscooby27) girlfriend he would tell her he's hungry for some pie and that she should be the one to make it.
Not that I agree though.

dorkfish you do not need to be blowing $32,000 plus insurance and other ancillaries on a performance car.

there, I said it.

you certainly don't want your girlfriend to help you buy it. what kind of man are you? yes it is great she has a good job and you're with her. now step aside of the material things for just one second and realize the happiness you should have without the car, and the economic drain it will be versus what it really has to offer.

don't be a fool.
