Default No cats, legal for SM right?

You can run no cats in SM correct?
What about steering wheels? I have a line on a CHEAP STI (version 5??) wheel, but it has no airbag.

The car has to be street legal and registered for the street. If running no cats is legal (which it is not in all states) then it would be ok. But running without cats IS ILLEGAL and you could be ticketed and fined.

Default What about ALK?

I knw that has been beaten to death, and its NOT STX legal, but what about SM? I cant find anything saying its not SM legal.

Same with the no cats.
On the moutons site, it says all street prep and street touring mods are allowed, in the street prep section, it says emmisions control devices CAN be removed.

Anyone else able to weigh in on this?

AFAIK cats aren't necessary in SM.

I'd assume a steering wheel would be OK too, but I am pretty much talking out of my butt on that one.

Did someone say track day

Default

in the street classes (IE ST,SP,SM) the car must be in street trim except for the mentioned modifications that are allowed

I think this is a general good rule to follow.

SM a new steering wheel is okay as well as no cats

ALK = FP.

It's not legal for ESP, STX, or SM.

It's illegal to remove any cats from a car, yet in STX it says you only need one of them. So basically the majority of WRXs that run in STX are illegal. There is a SP rule that states emissions control devices may be removed or modified. Catalytic converter falls under that rule for me. The other rule in SM is that drivetrains are completely unrestricted, I would consider the exhaust to be part of the drivetrain.

Steering wheel replacement is allowed in the SP rules.

14.10.H under the Engine and Drive Train says that exhaust manifolds and muffler systems are free, except that they must be quiet and terminate behind the driver and that is what makes them legal for just about anything (including the cat).

Emission system is something like the EGR and that can also be removed under the rule that was stated above.
