Question is my clutch slipping or......?

or is it just me driving bad? recently when i lauch uphill i sometimes get this fairly violent shake....it "feels" like wheel spin or something but i'm sure its not wheel spin...it's like something is slipping which makes me think if it's the clutch....this scenario is hard to imagine but i hope others with the same problem can help me here...thanks

If the clutch slips, then the tach would speed up as you step on the gas but the speed does not change. So, it's almost like putting the into neutral.

I would think that it's the clutch that's trying to engage at harder force, thus shaking the car. Not sure until I can exactly feel what you're talking about though.

I think I know what you're meaning, I have had the shake with my launches too. It happens when lifting the clutch too carefully with a little gas. I don't think mine clutch is malfunctioning. Maybe it's the same with your case. Just give it a little bit more gas and take the clutch all the way up relatively fast. Watch out for the tires to slip

Does this seem to occur more often when the car is just warming up (within 10-15 minutes). I've always had an annoying clutch shutter, worse when cold and damp. From the other i-clubbers, they suggested it's due to condensation on the clutch face.

Do a search for clutch shudder or clutch chatter and you'll find everything you want to know. It's fairly common.

This was out of the workshop service manual.
to test if u got a slip:

1. Engage parking brake all completely.
2. Step on clutch.
3. Shift into 5th gear.
4. Slowly release clutch until the "bite" point.
5. If it stalls immediately, it's not slipping.
